Digital Converter Box - Where to buy????

I guess I need to get a converter box for the bedroom TV (analog) even though we rarely use it. Is there one brand better than the other or are they all pretty much the same, if so where is good place to buy one?

Thanks Y'all!!!!!

Phil

I bought mine from this site at a total cost of $11.97 for two of them with the coupons http://www.solidsignal.com/dtv2009/

Phil,
The Solid Signal website has some good information. Regardless of which unit you buy and where I would recommend it have analog pass through and electronic program guide. Without the pass through you cannot receive analog if you use it before the switch over and the electronic (on screen) program guide is a real nice feature.

I concur with Charlie that the analog pass through is necessary, not only for using before the switchover, but also after. Not all TV signals will be converted to digital. Low power transmitters and translators do not have to make the switch (probably too expensive for them), and you'll find them in outlying areas not seviced by the station's primary transmitter. We have a lot of translators here in Nevada, and I suspect the West has quite a few more than the East.

Thanks everyone for the good 411 and the advice. I did order a coupon, when it comes in I will be out to buy one. That passthru info was not something I would have thought about, good to know.. I guess another option would be to buy a small LCD for the bedroom, but with not using very often not sure that is cost effective....Thanks again. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!!!!
