Our new Montana 3611 finally passes inspection!

After a week delay our new 3611 passed our inspection and we pulled it home. As mentioned in an earlier post there were many issues that could not be fixed the day we arrived, thus we went home empty handed. Kudos to the folks at Holiday World of Dallas, Tx. for doing a great job, although most problems should have been corrected without having to find them myself and complain about them. All in all we are now very pleased with the entire transaction.

bandit-- You are correct, you should have never had to complain about things IF the dealer had done their job and gone through the unit prior to your PDI. We found some also but they were nothing that they couldn't fix in an hour or less. We did have a couple other problems after our first trip but the dealer took care of them with no problems.

Good to hear you were satisfied with the final delivery repairs. Enjoy that new rig.

Our dealer, Northgate RV, in Ringgold, GA connects all utilities and then gives the unit a thorough inspection over a 3 day period. After the inspection and any necessary corrections are made the cleaning crew comes in and gives it a very good cleaning. After the cleaning you are then ready to do your own PDI before any money changes hands. We have bought 2 Montanas from NG RV and it was done this way both times and we found nothing wrong with either unit.

Not saying nothing was wrong from the factory but saying all problems were corrected by the dealer and did not trickle down to the customer.

By Northgate RV taking their time and prepping a new RV delivery that way it would sure make customers come back to them for future purchases. It is amazing to me that some of these other dealers can stay in business for more than a couple of years.

Getting a new RV should be a happy time. The good dealers feel the same way and do whatever is necessary to make that happen. The rest seldom have repeat customers (nor do they deserve them).
Congratulations on your new rig. May you have many, many happy and trouble free miles as you journey forth.

The question to ask is why did it come off the assembly line with problems.

The same reason as others with build issues... quality is not the #1 priority.

We, too, purchased from Northgate and LOVE them! We highly recommend them and would certainly buy from them again. Our first purchase was made over the phone and we drove from central Arkansas to pick it up.

We have had our new Montana home and hooked to all utilities for several days now and have it reloaded with all our stuff. Everything seems to work great with one exception, the ice maker in the residential fridge has never been hooked up. Looks likely I'll get to haul it back to Dallas for this rediculous problem. Good Grief!

Congrats on your new rig! Sorry there were issues that weren't corrected before it got to you. During our factory tour at the National Rally we saw first hand that quality checks are almost non existent. They do one at the last station and there was red tape literally all over both rigs that they had checked.... Maybe building a rig in a day isn't so smart.... And maybe paying the employees piece mil rather than hourly isn't working either... And maybe a quality check at each station when the worker is finished would catch and prevent repeat problems.... Just a thought.

Hope you have no more issues with your rig! Happy travels!
