We stayed there a couple of years ago and liked it. We even had a couple of ducks (Morty and Marie) visit us each morning for breakfast. There is a penninsula in the small lake that is home to a big owl and there are nice picnic areas with beaches. Bring your bicycles as there are roads to ride around the lake. There is also a naturally fed rock hot tub as well as areas to hike.
We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

We live just about 50 miles from Roper Lake. It's one of our quick getaway places, mostly during the cooler months (because it's very hot there in the summer) although we were just there this past weekend on our shakedown cruise with the new Monty. We like it a lot, usually take the kayaks to paddle around the lake and fish a little. There's an easy walking path around the lake, a beach area, and Mt. Graham is just up the road which rises to about 10,000 feet elevation. Safford is about 7 miles up the road and it's a nice town with a WalMart and grocery stores for the necessities. If you have any other questions we'll be glad to help, and maybe we'll see you around this winter!

We have stayed there many times during the winter and loved it. A quiet park in a small community. Beautiful area. Seemed like the camp host job would be a good one.

We really liked Roper Lake. Perhaps we will meet you next April on our way home from Tucson.

We made the 1800 plus mile trip from MN to Roper Lake State Park in AZ without mishap. First impressions tell me this is going to be a fantastic winter. The park is beautiful and everyone is friendly. AZ wa DW's idea and this time she was right.

We spent about 1 1/2 hour in the natural hot tub here. I feel better already.
