Yes there are two state parks that are really nice and stand out to us that we use each year. Greenbo Lake State Resort Park and Carter Caves State Resort Park. There is also a State Park at Grayson, KY. There are a couple of KOAs, one on the Industrial parkway right off of I 64 near Grayson, KY. Another KOA is in Milton WV near Huntington, WV.

The KOA on the Industrial Parkway would probably be the quickest and easiest for access to Ashland, KY. It goes by the name of Huntington West KOA. It is a fairly new campground that opened up only about a year ago. It should be great I just haven’t ever stayed there.

We often use Greenbo Lake State Resort Park. If you are familiar with Reserve America you can even pick out your sight and see a photo of it. However any of the pull thru’s should be fine. Some of the pull thru’s are close to 100 feet long and they have full 50AMP service with sewer for about $30.00/?? maybe 35 night. You will need to use the reservation system to get a good spot. Hope everything works out ok for your stay.

Carter Caves is really nice but some of their sites are somewhat tight unless you can get one of the larger ones, eg; site 57, in the corner and along that row. Again you can view them on Reserve America.

Hope this helps if you need more information feel free to PM me.

If and when you’re in the area also feel free to give us a call. Wer're only a few miles from the general area! The only down side with Greenbo is that AT&T doesn’t have cell service in the campground. They do have great wifi available though.

Thank you for the quick response. I will look into the parks you recommended. I might be relocating to the Ashland area with my job and as a full timer, I am looking for a park/resort that would allow long term site rentals. Thanks again!
