RVTV on Versus Network <UPDATED-LINK REMOVED>
RVTV has signed a multi-year agreement with the Versus Network (Ch 151 on DishNet, Ch 603 on DTV).
Premier is July 30, 8:30 AM.
Possible problems with a link to rvtv.ca. Suggest not using until further investigation.

Has anyone found it on the Direct tv schedule yet? I can see it on the schedule on the VS website and RVTV but nothing for that date on direct tv. Does it show on dish? Any Ideas? I am guessing that Direct has not updated the guide yet. I have tried searching and no luck for the dvr.

It is also on Direct TV on channel 603. I don't pay for the extra channels and therefore I don't get it.

Oh my, I just tried to open the link to this program and my AVG security system blocked it with a big note that said
"Serious attack detected." DO NOT OPEN. Did anyone else get this?

I just checked DishNet chnl 151 and it shows "RNT-V" at 05:30 AM(PDT) on July 30th. They make it sound like another hunting program. I checked the RVTV website and they show 05:30 AM(PDT) on July 30th. I guess I'll record it and see what I get.

Yes...I also picked up a trogan virus when I clicked on the link. Thank goodness, my daughter helped me get rid of it!

I would advise not to use that link, then, since it is not worth taking a chance. My protection systems did not raise any red flags... I will investigate further.

If you search on rvtv.ca you will fid a McAfee web notice that it did not find any significant problems with this web site.
One thing that your security software may be hitting on is that the server is in the United States, but he TLD code is .CA. This can bring up a security flag. I'm using a MAC and Firefox. Firefox did alert me that the server is in the U.S. Doing a "Whois" lookup showed the ownership of rvtv.ca belonged to TuCows.
I don't personally believe there is anything wrong with the web site.
Everyone needs to make sure that their anti-virus software definitions are up-to-date.

I have been to the website, I have seen the information that the show is coming on July 30 on DirecTV channel 603 at 5:30am PT, but my guide shows a program called RNTV (some kind of family in the outdoors). Maybe the schedule is not updated, but at that hour I am gonna be asleep. Oh well...

I'm so glad to know that our AGV.com software caught this. It is a great program and VERY up to date and works so much better than the McAfee or Norton ever did with our system.

AGV.com is a motorcycle helmet web page. Can you give more information on the product you are using?
Also, for all, just what is the issue that RVTV.CA seems to be having. Some are not running into any problems, others are making cements that there are issues but there is no information as to what the issue is. It is mentioned that the site downloaded a trojan. That is pretty drastic. What was the name of the trojan? Are you sure it came from THAT web site and not something previously looked at? Is it possible that your anti-virus software just happened to be updated and found that trojan as you were surfing RVTV?
There are to many unanswered questions. RVTV is linked by many, many other web sites. Don't you think that an abundance of users would be complaining if there were some issues with the web site? Yet, when you do a risk assessment search using keywords for RVTV, nothing comes up except that there was a McAfee web page that said there was nothing significantly wrong with the web site.
I'm just curious.

I guess we will see how the shows works tomorrow AM. Hopefully that doesn't have any viruses or Trojan Horses that affect our DVRs... 
Wonder if that will be the next big infection problem. My DishNet DVR downloads program info automatically every day at 6 am. Nothing of value on it - I don't think, but maybe a matter of time before someone tries to send viruses/worms/etc that way?
I know cell phones are now being touted by tech experts as the next virus target.

Well I set up the dvr to record RNT-V which is what was listed. No luck. It didnot record anything. I then looked for today and finally it is listed correctly. I set the DVR to record this am and tonight hopefully I can watch it. Please dont remind me that if this concerns me, I have too much time on my hands...My wife reminds me daily of my electronic addiction!
