Helen,
Sounds like we both were very lucky. Good thing they build these Montana's so well.

I head out in the morning again, this time Cheyenne WY is my destination. Will be towing at the 7,400' level tomorrow as I leave Salt Lake City on I-80 East. Went up to Park City ski resort today, what a beautiful place to spend the day. Found a few very nice condo's for sale.... =) I will be keeping my eyes open for any Montana's on the road, also keep the CB on ch. 19. Travel well yall!

Montana,

That I-80 across Wyoming is a pretty ugly stretch of road, there isn't anything in lower WY, my sister has lived in Cheyenne for 25 years so I'm pretty close to an expert. That said, you're still on the road and I'm not! Have fun, enjoy!

Dave, I've been busy off the internet the last few days. Just caught this post... Have a safe trip and I looking forward to seeing you in Goshen. We have an event in Mt. Pleasant, MI. We will be staying at the Isabella Co. Fairgrounds from the 14th until the 21st , when we will head to Goshen (will be there that afternoon). Still haven't got my 4.5 heaters yet...

Tonight I find myself in Cheyenne, WY. The trip today took me up and over the highest point on I-80; 8,700 ft above sea level. The climb up and out of Salt Lake City was a nice long 50+ mile climb, averaged 10mpg on that leg. The rest of this trip has come in at 11.4 mpg again towing at the 65-68mph range (1800-2000 rpms). Have been very happy with the Duramax both up and down the grades. Tomorrow should take me somewhere in the Omaha, NE or western Iowa area.

I passed 7 Montanas and Mountaineers today, not one person flashed back! Maybe tomorrow?? Till then, safe travels to yall.

I remember that climb pulling a u-haul years ago moving back here from California. That is quite a long stretch and to get 10mpg on that stretch pulling a Montana is real good I would say.

Dave,
I wish you safe travels to the rally. Your right, I am lucky to be out and about on this trip. Will be on the road a tad over 7.5 weeks covering over 5,000 miles. =) As I sit here and type this, I am still trying to figure out how I can stay out here forever. =)

Gee, I kinda like driving across I-80 in southern Wyoming! It's kinda pretty and has all that wide open space. Traffic is reasonable and a guy can actually relax while he drives. But I like being on the road anyhow.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

Steve,
I think I took more pictures in Wyoming than any other state I have covered so far. I have always enjoyed the midwest and find driving through the Dakota's, Wyoming, Montana to be most enjoyable.

Mac,
I am taking pictures, too bad I dont have a digital camera or I would load up your email with pics from the rally. Maybe I can get Steve to take a bunch and email them to me. I could then send the onto you. =)

I think you need to buy a digital camera, Dave.
