Ok it looks like I am going to have to run my Chinabombs for awhile.It looks like there are at least two critical items to address.One is to keep speeds below 65 mph as that is what the ST tire is rated for, no problem. The second is air pressure. I need to keep the tires at 80 psi. With the absence of service stations, and being hard for me to maneuver in closr quarters, I need a air compressor small enough to infate tires to 80 psi and be stored in the RV. I think a 110 volt unit would be better as I don't know where I would plug in a 12 volt except the TV plug on the right hand side. What are you guys using.

I wanted a 12v compressor so I could use it on the road...didn't have a generator. So I got the largest one I could find. It has alligator clamps that fit on the battery, not the cigarette type fitting, and a long hose:

If you want a 110v one, check Harbor freight also for one of those. I got a pancake compressor that is still small enough to fit into my tool box if I remove the feet. Works good too and since I got a genny in the bed and 50ft extention cord I can use it along the hwy. Hope you can soon get rid of the timebombs, hate to see you mess up the side of such a nice trailer. See you retired from B.S., I retired as a cable splicer from Verizon after 30 too and it could not come soon enough lol.

When I had the Marabombs I got a small 110 compressor with a one gallon tank from NAPA. It would only reach a little over 100# so it was ok for them. When I got the G614's I run them at 100# so that wouldn't work so I had to get a pancake that would go to 135# and gave the NAPA one to my son-in-law.

Got a small tankless AC compressor from Sears that is good to about 110#. Also carry a 2K Honda genny with us so I can inflate the way.

All the tender loving care in the world will not make any difference with the China bombs. Get them off of your trailer ASAP. Tick tock, tick tock, ................BOOM!!!!!
The Marathons do not have belts strong enough to withstand the twisting from parking and sharp turns. Belt failure is nearly a certainty with the M-BOMBS.

I've used a Campbell Hausfield 120 volt inflator from Wallmart for the last 14 years that takes my truck and F/W tires to 80 psi. Its slow but it does the job with no problem. It's the one that cost 51.40 on line. When I got it was 39.95. I also keep a 12 volt one in the truck for emergencies on the road. I also run BFG comm t/a on the F/W. They run smooth and the peace of mind can't be measured.

I went with an $89 Porter-Cable from Home Depot. Six gallon, and 150 psi because I wanted to be able to do other things with it maybe (tools, blow out stuff, etc.) and it should fill the tires a little more quickly than a 12v. Can use the campground electricity, or the gen on the road.

Just remember that tire pressure is measured cold. If you check the pressure on the road, it could be 90 lbs or higher from the heat, but lowering it to 80 psi would in fact be running the tire under inflated.

Campbell Hausfeld will do the trick. You can get at Harbor Freight, Home Depot, TSC. 12 Volt will not cut it for higher PSI requirements. I carry an inverter just in case I need 110 on the road. Got the inverter at TSC.

The Newer Ram pickups have a 110volt outlet right on the dash. I wonder if that would run the Campbell Hausfeld?

Didn't know Dodge had the 110 outlet too, that's nice. Ford's is only 150W, don't think that will handle a compressor, but someone else will know for sure.

I carry a Sears 1 1/2 gallon air compressor in the storage chest in the bed of my truck. It is good to 150 PSI and will actually get the 80 psi into my tires quickly versus the small ones. It only cost around $100. I also carry a Honda generator back there to run it if I am on the road or dry camping. I have been through several smaller compressors in the past and they take a very, very..... long time to inflate a trailer tire. I had also tried one of the small tank compressors and it just wouldn't get the pressure up to 80psi, although it was supposedly rated at 100psi.

I put 12v Marinco Conectpro connectors on brackets bolted to the frame of the Monty and connected to the battery thru fused 4 gauge flexible wire I got from an auto audio store. I got Q Industries MV50 and MV90 12v compressors which are a great bang for the buck and compare very favorably to the Viair units that cost much more. I wanted to have air without a/c and don't have an large inverter. I use this system to top off tires, air up my levelairs and power my Flojet Mascerator. Works great. Here's some pics.
