Saw that. Got a new holster the other day. Guess I'll get some use out of it this winter.

Stories like that make you think twice about just taking off into the wilderness...something I have long enjoyed doing.

A good reminder to be aware of our surroundings and remember that each of us is responsible for our own personal safety. Do what you need to do to keep yourself and loved ones safe.

I doubt that any of the bodies were upstanding Citizens.

Probably not... but collateral damage can be just as final. I'm an old scout and live by the motto "be prepared"
Be safe out there everyone! We've got a lot of living to do

Murder-suicide, 2 adults 3 children, looks like the sheriff jumped to conclusion alittle quick.

A trait we share... I guess you never know until the facts are all in.
So sorry for the family. Such a waste and a shame.

Still, what would have happened if you were hiking there when these folks pulled in thinking the police were right behind them. Not everyone looks at the solace of the desert the same way. You just have to be careful and be ready to protect yourself and those with you.

News is saying now, that it was a murder suicide. Family was from Phoenix. The father shot the family and then himself while setting the vehicle on fire.
