Samsung Res. Frig. Lock Knob

Can anyone comment on something my wife discovered looking at the new Montana's at the 4-H Fairgrounds? The Samsung residential refrigerators have a knob that keeps the doors and drawer from opening during travel. We went back to look at our refrigerator and noticed there is a welded nut where the two french doors and single drawer all meet on the inside. Did you get a knob with yours? Thanks.

Got the knob in ours. It really does keep all the doors closed. It takes a few seconds to install. Cheap insurance to keep your doors from getting dented and food from falling out of refrig. Get back with your dealer to get one.

Knob

We got the knob with ours. Recently I added a large metal washer with a large thin rubber washer because the knob let the doors come open a time or two. I had seen this fix in previous post here. I found both washers in the specialty fastener bins at Lowe’s. I was hoping to find a large plastic or neoprene washer but could not find one. The rubber washer fits against the fridge door (no scratches) but it was not rigid enough so the metal washer backs it up - and I don’t have to tighten it much - just snug the rubber to the door.

Picked up a 2020 3561 last week and found two large and two small nobs. I think they didn't find them when they did their walk through and put two in.

Great ides of putting a large washer and pad on it because it is close to letting them open.

I had to ask the forum what the small nob was for, too block open all the doors in storage so they don't close and air gets in them.

We have one for our 20118 3791RD. I painted it bright yellow, and put a string on it to hang on a hook next to the refrigerator so it will not be forgotten to be installed.

We use an old cd and some stick on felt pads on ours against the knob. You just need enough pressure to keep the doors from starting to open. JT

Do you need a pic of the knob? I can go take a pic of mine (tomorrow - I am sitting on my as* watching TV right now). If I ever lost mine I would go to the specialty drawers at Lowe’s or Home Depot and see if I could find the right all-thread and a knob that fit the all thread...the a locking nut and washer and I would make another one.

I tried googling the knob for Samsung rv fridge and I was surprised at how many ideas and solution gadgets are out there. I did not find one on trekwood.

I have a 2019 3791 that came with 1 large and 2 small as well. Had no idea what the 2 small ones were for.

We got a long one and short one. The short (small) one is to keep the doors from closing to air out the fridge when in storage. At least that was my assumption and what I use it for.

fridge lock knob

To add to the pics from DutchmenSport - here is my knob.
I added the metal+rubber washer because the bare knob (like Dutchmen's above) started not keeping the door closed...I suppose from the rough ride. I got the idea from someone on the forum. I just screw the knob in a few turns to snug it to the door. The rubber gasket keeps it from damaging the door. This has worked well for me.

Also someone in this thread mentioned they had some smaller mystery knobs - well I do too. See pic...some of this stuff is mine - but I think the dealer tech pointed to all this stuff during the pdi 2 years ago and mumbled what all this stuff was for. I think it was left-overs from the TV installations. Oh well - it lives in this drawer until DW claims the drawer.

Hello, could anyone confirm the model number of the Samsung fridge for me? From researching it I think it may be the RF18HFENBSR-2. We could not find a 3761FL around anywhere close last year so ended up getting the 3760FL and I absolutely hate the Norcold 2118 and would like to switch them out. The cooling fans failed 3 months after delivery and it just has a heck of a time keeping itself cool. Our previous 5th had a Whirlpool residential in it and I really miss it (the fridge, not the trailer lol). Any help with the model would be appreciated, thank you.
