Yes, Sue and I went together for the permit process and got ours at the same time.
I am looking to sell my model 19 .357 and maybe getting a airweight mod. 37, checking around now.

If you're going to leave it sit without any care you might want to invest in the Model 637 stainless version. That was my backup gun in an ankle holster for 20 years. Mud, dust, dirt and water up to my knees and it still worked every time. By the way, if you put Smith and Wesson in the title of the post do you think it helps to warn it's a gun thread?

History is a great teacher. I did not want anyone to be offended by a gun thread.. wanted fair warning.
I know there are folks that hate this type of posting, so I wanted it to be clear.
I would still shoot a game of pool or have a cold one with them however..

I am thinking a longer barrel. I have the Airweight .38 short barrel.
I wanted a lightweight frame, the stainless would be heavy.

I never did figure out how to concel a M-29 357 mag 6 inch BBl or my Gov model 45. BTW Ozz with snakes it is shoot first ask questions later with me.

we been hit 3 times up in the PA mountains by those nasty diamond backs but we always wore those high top LL bean snake boots. Never went to the wood pile or the outhouse without my trusty 45.

Always wanted a S&W 626 stainless. The 45 ACP Springfield is fun but nothing beats a good,reliable wheel gun!

I never had any trouble carrying a 45 concealed (especially the smaller ones like the Colt Defender), but the Highway Patrolman you speak of, even in a 4" barrel is too bulky do to it's frame size and the fact it was a 6 shot revolver.

I would have to be there and watch anyone shoot a 4 shot group under 1/2 inch at 1,000 yards.

I don't find it hard to believe. The bench rest record is at or under 3 inches at that distance for 10 shots, so having four group that close under good/ideal conditions is entirely do-able.

Well, I just traded my Model 19 .357 for a .22 cal wheel gun, a Taurus .22 Mag 8 shot.
Looks like a nice revolver, will download pictures later.

The record for 5 shots was under 1 3\8 inches but I think it was broke this summer. The record for 100 is .007 inch for 5 shots center to center. The 22 rim fire shooters can hit a 1/4 inch circle 25 out of 25 times at 50 yards and this dot . 23 times out of 25 times. You don't wont these guys and gals shooting at you.

That's why I bought the Governor. Laser grips and self defense shotgun shells might help if we happen upon drug dealers of coyotes while hiking in Arizona. Shot expert on the combat courses but it's different when you are actually scared. What the gun can do and what you can do when it's crunch time are two different things.

Well, I guess I'll add my S&W's: Model 686 .357 stainless 4" and 6906 9mm.

They are kept company by a Springfield 1911 and a Kimber Ultra Carry II .45 with Crimson Trace. Just for fun, I also have the ubiquitous Remington 870 and 1100. I'll have to leave you guessing on a few others...

A lot of "gun purist" really put down the Governor as a novelty. But it is ideal for me. We own 24 acres in the country that we may build on some day. In the meantime, it is a place to go to just to mess around (and of course do upkeep). But with some woods and creeks, it has such things as copperheads, skunks, coyotes, feral hogs, etc. So I load my Governer with 2 rounds of 410 #6, 2 of 410 000 buck, and two of 45 ACP. Figure I have my bases covered there for any varmints that crawl on the ground or walk on two legs.
And I carry it with 000 buck when traveling. If I did have to use it for self defense, I would know that if I missed there would not be 45 slugs possibly traveling great distance and/or going thru several other trailers.
I read some time ago about the percentage of first shot misses by experienced LEOs (I think it was state troopers) in critical situations. Don't remember the actual numbers now, but it was amazingly high.

Over the 4th of July we gave away most all of our firearms to our boys. Laid them out on a pool table and said take your pick, they did. we kept out a couple of our favorites for the camper and carry. Our hunting days are over and we do not shoot as much as we once did. They ere thrilled to get what they got and they will stay. in the family

I have been giving my rifles away to. If I have one I haven't used in a few years I give it to my nephew. That gives me an excuse to build me another one.

I have a 19-4 stubby 2 1/2" and a 19-2 4". Always looking to buy a Model 19. Anyway these 2 will accompany my Kimber Ultra Elite 45, Glock 26 and Walther P22. My wife has a S&W mdl 37.
