2011 Northeast Rally in Maine

After consulting with John Kohl, I have (and Betty) agreed to be the Wagon Master for the Northeast Rally. The dates and location are as follows:

Dates: Arrive Thursday June 16th - Depart Monday June 20th.
However if you can and want to I would suggest staying another two days for the Windjammer Days (June 21 & 22) Well worth your time and expense. (Go to Chamber of Commerce below and look for 49th Windjammer Days)
If so you need to reserve early for the extra days. I intend to.

Location: Shore Hills Campground, 553 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay, Maine 04537.
Web site: www.shorehills.com
Phone: 207-633-4782

Reservations: The above address send $40 check to reserve, no plastic.
Mention the Montana Rally. The cost per day including tax and a discount is $43.34.
I tentatively reserved 20 sites grouped together.

The sites are very nice; large, full hook up, 50 amp, with cable and WiFi. Shuttle service to Town, free canoe use, Check their website.

A Rec Hall will be available to us.

Chamber of Commerce for area information: www.boothbayharbor.com
We will have hard copies of area information for attendees.

I hope this helps you plan. Don't miss this rally. More info to follow.

Drew

Daggone, decisions, decisions, DW has been wanting to go to Maine, logistics are troublesome though, may have to do some thinking, route timing, etc. on this one. We are interested in teh idea, just don't know about the trip yet!!

Drew and Judy - happy to see that you decided to do this in 2011. We will be making plans to attend and will most likely stay for the Windjammer Festival. Count us in for helping. Also happy it is a little later in June.

I believe we visited here (Booth Bay) several years ago on a trip to Maine. Beautiful views.

10/14/2010

Reservations made for June 16 to June 23.

We would love to go but with Vickie having limited vacation time, it's a bit too far requiring 6 days travel. If a miracle happens and we're retired by then,----------

Drew and Betty,
We are so glad you picked Boothbay as the place to hold a rally in Maine. It is one of the most picturesque places on the coast and offers many things to do. The downtown area of Boothbay Harbor is a quaint mixture of authentic coastal village with many tourist amenities. Boat tours, artisans and gift shops, restaurants, free trolley tours, and a scenic walk across the harbor on the foot bridge are among my favorite things to do. Also, it is home of one of the premier public gardens, The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, recently developed and beautifully landscaped to follow the natural geography and flora of the coastal regions. Of course, Windjammer Days is a wonderful event with a parade, festival, and several windjammers(old 3 or 4 masted schooners) sailing into the harbor.
