Lorraine and I need your support....

At 6AM Wednesday Lorraine's Dad passed away. For the past couple years he had been battling cancer and they felt he had it beat but it was complications from all the meds and treatments that finally took it's toll.
Although not unexpected it was still very hard on her but she does have the comfort of knowing that he is where he dearly wanted to be and that is back in the arms of his beloved wife. She had passed away last January and he never totally recovered.

My older brother, Bruce, is now back in the hospital fighting his 3rd battle with the same type cancer my father-in-law suffered from. Being a very religious individual he is totally prepared for whatever the out come may be but I am a greedy type person and I want to keep him around a bit longer.

Your thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Glenn and Lorraine,

Shirley and I feel a great fondness for both of you both even though we have only met on this forum. You have been one of the "great spirits" of this online community from the beginning. We wish there is more we could do, but you do have our prayers and love.

Please tell Bruce that an old padre from Texas is praying for him and for you who love him.

And thanks for all you do for this community.

Our prayers are with you both and your families. The big C has not been kind to our family either and we know your sorrow. We will pray for your brother to have the strength to endure.

Wow, lots of pain, Lorraine. We can't make it better, but we remind you that you are promised a Comforter. He comes with soothing balm to annoint our hurts. In due season, healing will come.

In your minds eye and on the canvas of your heart, paint yourself a portrait of your dad. Use the colors of joy and gladness. Use the hues of better days. Remember the strength of his youth. It is ok to omit the dark colors of disappoint and suffering.

As long as you carry the portrait, you carry his presence.

One of the best things I like about the MOC family is the willingness to ask and receive prayer. God is faithful! Sorry to hear about your lose and sickness in your family. Our prayers are for you. Remeber, God is Good and we should not lean on our own understanding but it all ways acknowledge Him. Stiles is right. Keep the faith Glenn and Lorraine.

PS Was great to meet the two of you at the rally in Goshem.

May the hands of the lord take the weight off your shoulders. Give God your burden and he will guide you through this. My prayers are with you both.
