Does your entry door turn on overhead lights in entry and kitchen as the regular montana was wired via button switch on rear side of door jam? If not, then you could get a 12vdc wireless receiver to turn on the light of your choice.

Yes I added 3 switches near the thermostat. I also broke up the circuit so I have a switch for 1. Hallway & over the cabinet, 2. lights over sink and 3. lights in rear.

First remove the light above the pantry door. I had 2 sets of wires. 1 set went to the lights above the sink. The other set went to the on/off switch.
I used JR Products 12245 Black Triple SPST On-Off Switch with Bezel from amazon.
I ran the wires in the walls from the original switches. I drilled a hole below the cabinet
(under the thermastat) where the switches are going to be. You only need to run 1 wire from the switch because the lights have ground already.I ran the wire from the hole I drilled along under the countertop where you can't see it.I drilled a hole in the pantry toward the front so I can run it up right behind the molding on the right side of the door.I then drilled small holes in the shelf corners. The wire has to go up into the ceiling.
You will have to make a large 3" hole in the ceiling. You will have to fish the wire from the pantry. To make it more fun there is a roof rafter to go thru.

The other wire (neg) is already hooked up. You are going to disconnect the positive where it hooks up at the light above the pantry and hook up your new wire.

Everytime I fished wires in a regular house, I was less than thrilled. In a trailer is the same thing, it is tedious work, slow, and the large holes put into ceiling material gets covered with a metal or plastic circular plate instead of being able to patch drywall. I would not trust a dealer to do this work. If making holes in your rv bothers you, if you don't understand wire size requirements as relates to distance and current, if you aren't a relaxed type of person, I would look to alternative solutions...even a different rv that works better for you.

Not to hijack the thread, but has anyone done something about the switch for the ceiling 12v lights at the back of the living area? Our Mountaineer has (I think) 4 separate lights (with own internal on/off switch) and the main on/off is on the side wall by the rear recliners. It is very awkward to reach and if you turn it off, often there is no other light in the living area so I have to feel my way to the BR. (I know, I know - I could plan ahead and turn on other lights a little closer to BR). Thanks for any suggestions.
