Water Stains from Air Conditioner Help!

Afternoon, Does anyone know how to remove water stains on the roof from the air conditioner? I have used Dawn and scubbed but it didnt remove them. Does anyone know of any other method that will remove it and that is safe for the roof? Thanks for any help.

I don't concern myself with the stains. From what I was told by the manufacturer they are not doing any harm and any heavy scrubbing could do more harm than good to the rubber.

Glenn is right. Don't drive yourself nuts trying to get them out, they won't. Besides nobody but you knows those stains are there. And me and Glenn and -----------

I dont want to scrub the rubber to death...LOL...just thought maybe there was something that would remove the water stains?

We cannot get the stains off either, and after one rather weak attempt, gave up the hopes that they will come off.

I can see yours from the tree tops, or a glider! Don't think they are as bad as ours! HA HA

Maybe someone else has a solution, but ours is IGNORE IT and HAVE FUN IN TANA!

campbud long time back I placed a topic and asked if anyone tried to place a drain hose to try to keep the stains from forming. The responses weren't to numerics.

I thing you should try a different approach by trying to protect the rubber on the roof from staining.

I don't want to start another topic, but I did clean the roof today. After the first cleaning I used 303 Protectant it didn't make it any easier to clean it this time, but I didn't have that many AC strains or others up there today. I again applied 303 Protectant to the roof. Hope this may help! See-Ya

Illini Trekker..Thanks for the info ..I will try that and see if it helps. The air conditioner sits more in the back on my unit, so at least it is not the whole roof.

Although others have their points about whose going to see it up there, I too dislike the stains. I've found a soft bristle brush and Protect All Rubber Roof Cleaner ( not pushing the product ... just works well for me) will remove 95% of those stains. Spray it on and work it around some with the brush and a little bit of water ... let it sit a few moments, then brush again. Repeat if necesary. In addition, the rubber roof treatment seems to reduce the elbo grease needed the next time you want to clean the roof. I've used this method on 2 Montanas now with no premature damage to the rubber roof. Ten years from now I may go with the flow ... for now, getting up there to do it is no problem!

I use the Thetford roof cleaner. Does not take the stains out, but it sure does hide them. =)
