Retired navy so please include Military campgrounds. But please share Camp Ground experiences in the Charleston area good or bad.
Thanks

Back in March we stayed at James Island County Park. It was highly recommended to us by several MOC members and we, in turn, highly recommend it. While it is a County Park, we had full hookups.

I second Steve's recomendation of John's Island County Park. Its a great park and easy trip to Charleston. The park even has a shuttle to and from Charleston. You also might want to look at a FamCam run by the Navy a short distance from Charleston. It is called Short Stay Outdoor Rec Area and is on Lake Moultie at Moncks Corner.

Just to clarify ... although there is a John's Island near Charleston, the park we stayed at was on James Island. Don't know what sort of RV accommodations are available on John's Island.
