Landing Gear
Is there any routine maintenance that should be done to the front landing gear assembly? I know we all believe in good PM but haven't heard much talk regarding this very critical subsystem on the Montana's.
Thanks

Had not thought about PM on the legs system, but I think I should. I will be asking the service manager tomorrow. I will be seeing him on a different matter.

the landing gear operates on 2 bezel gears at each end of the horizontal rod at the top of the 2 vertical jacks. annual greasing of these gears will extend the lifetime of these critical parts. the gears are covered by shields which snap off ( skinned knuckles will result when the covers are removed ). apply grease generously to the gears, replace the covers, and you're good to go for another year. you may notice a reduction in operating noise and ease of operation. hope this helps answer your question. donandjudy_12

I looked through all my info and found nothing relating to maintenance of this very critical part.
Thanks

That is exactly why most if not all of my info comes from this forum. As always, I thank everyone here for all suggestions, how-tos, how-not-tos, guidance, short-cuts and for putting up with me.
The MOC owners manual, has a nice ring to it.

Now thanks to the info available on this forum I have yet another item to check on. I guess that "ignorance is bliss" no longer applies since I started checking in on this forum. Thanks for the information.

We recently lost the use of our landing gear because the gears stripped out. That was Labor Day Weekend and we are still waiting to get our Monty back. Has anyone else experienced this? We've had Monty for less than a year and have been out half a dozen times. Thanks,
