Opinion on installation service
I will be coming out of Alaska in Jun with my '06 3400 and would like to hit a CW in Washington. I have quite alot of things I want to purchase AND have installed. I notice there are 2 dealers in WA. One in Burlington (Foleys, I believe) and one in Fife (Tacoma?). Can anyone offer advice on these dealerships. Did not see either one in "Dealership Ratings". PM me if you must.
Thanks
Phil

Foleys does pretty good work, Camping world just bought them a while back. I have used CW in Fife, and have no complaints. They are always busy, and do allow you to overnight in the lot. No hookups, so make sure tanks are emoty and water is on board.

Phil,
I've never been in the CW in Burlington, but I can tell you that the one in Fife (Tacoma) is a fist class store...they have everything your would find in almost any other CW.
I have been in a few CW's that were not up to parr...
You are brave souls, I've been over the Alcan Hwy twice, and to tackle that as a newbie....well, my advice is to take your time...see you in Washington.

Thanks Robbie, we plan to, about ten day worth, at minimum. Should be a seasoned pro by the time we hit the lower 48. Rick, thanks for that info, that surely is important stuff to know. Dump tanks and fill water....

Hi Phil,
I've been to both Camping Worlds they are much the same, Great stores.
I spent about $800.00 in one of them last spring on our way down to Redding, CA.
Now the only thing was....... we pasted two more Camping Worlds along I-5 in Oregon.
Oregon doesn't have any sales tax, Washington is 8% I think.
That would be a difference of $640.00.
Might be worth thinking about.
Also there is a KOA a couple of miles north of Foley's if needed.

It would be really a lot to think about because the difference would be $64.00.

John, the $640.00 savings might be just worth the trip to Oregon. Since AK has no sales tax, I tend to forget about those things. Thanks for pointing that out. Now has anyone used the CW's in Oregon and do you have any advice I might use????

I'm not positive, but when I lived in WA, I think they didn't charge residents of a state that didn't have sales tax the tax. You might give Camping World a call.

In WA, residents of Oregon, Montana, and one other state that I am forgetting are tax exempt. All you have to do is show your drivers license before the cashier rings up your purchase. If you live in a no sales tax state and are in Washington, be sure to say you are tax exempt.

c5racer, I think you are correct on that.
Phil, If you don't call ahead to check, you can check at the store BEFORE you buy anything. Your Alaska Driver's License should work.
