Get the trail air pin box I have had one for six or seven years.You can see it working all the time even on fairly smooth roads
Also nothing moves inside the trailer

After posting a comment regarding air bags and air ride on a horse trailer, I just watched a YouTube video from RVX called "Ten amazing RV innovations " and it appears that APKTV8 and moryde a teamed up designing a air ride jack and axle system.
It's called the I flex smart ride.
Pritty cool.

TrailAir pin box is probably the best mod I have ever done for on-highway comfort in general.

No on ever mentioned the shocks on the trailer. I replaced mine and it made a world of difference.

I have the Reese 5th airborne. I chose it over trail air for a couple reasons. The shock and airbag are enclosed and protected from the elements. I also think itís quite a bit lighter than the trail air. This upgrade made a world of
Difference for me.

So the trailair or reese pinbox would be the better alternative, rather than say a trailsaver hitch, to stop the chucking? a smoother ride? Read other rv blog posts where they recommended the air hitch as opposed to the air pinbox.

An air ride hitch and an air ride pin box do essentially the same thing. People recommend what they have. They either bought it because they thought it was best or didn’t know any better.

Or in my case Lynwood I bought the Reese Goose Box because that is what Keystone would warranty.

As I've stated I have the Trailer Saver and like it very much but also as Lynwood has stated both truck and rv air-bag connections work about the same. The difference between the two is the Trailer-Saver cost more but stays with the truck and air-ride pin box stays with the trailer. With the Trailer-Saver on the truck and the Mor-ryde pin box I have the least amount of chucking possible as the Mor-Ryde pin box does alleviate some of the chucking and the Trailer Saver takes out the rest of the chucking and most of the bounce. The downside to the Trailer-Saver is the cost so you have to decide how much money you are willing to spend. Either choice is good.

Towed 450 miles yesterday with the new Trailair pin box. What a difference it made in the ride. Still driving a 1 ton pick up with a 40' 5th wheel behind so it's not like riding in a sedan but the ride is much improved. Much less bouncing over rough bridge approaches. Very happy with the results.

Here's a related question maybe for the more experienced - would the more level a 5er reduce chucking - been bouncing this thought around. Even with equalizer suspension on trailer, nose up seems it might add to issue ... only pulled one with Ram auto level & Trailair - so i know no difference. Seems IS would also improve, sort of like the comment earlier about air suspension on 5er.
Thoughts from more experienced folks. Still think dealers need to let buyers try different setups
