I agree with all the above EXCEPT what is highlighted. Neither will improve fuel mileage. The K&N will foul your MAF and allow more dirt to enter your engine. The factory air filter will allow more than enough air for your power level. A low-restriction air filter on a diesel will not improve fuel mileage.
This is worth repeating. It’s true if you have any doubt have a oil analyst run.

We just installed a Spartan tuner and removed all the emissions junk on the exhaust of my 6.4 . Have a ton more power/torque and getting about 4 more miles to a gallon. If its out of warranty , I would recommend doing the same.

I have a Spartan tuner on mine. I’m tuned to the 210 early lock tow tune with EGR delete. Much much improved but you need to check your fuel mileage with a pen and paper and forget about your lie o meter. Mine said I was getting about 3 to 4 more MPG. It turns out I wasn’t maybe one.
It WILL pull a camper!!

The 6.7L MAF is a very delicate sensor as mine has been replaced twice under warranty, turns out the real culprit was a stuck VGT. As for the K&N, I completely agree that it moves more air, but if you've ever seen the blades of a diesel turbo that has been running one for several thousand miles, it may change your mind. There is a fine line between too much oil that ruins the MAF and not enough that allows dust through. The grit that is allowed through wears off the edges of the turbo wheel. I still run them in my gas engines, but not in the diesels. The new Ford air intakes are made to flow enough air for up to 600hp without modification. I've changed every air intake on every truck I've ever owned, up until this one. Talk with some mechanics, look at true dyno data and look at the filter rates put out by the companies. Then go look at the independent testing facilities that have tested them. They are not all made equally that is for sure.

The dealer will take you trade, but they can not resale it. They will sell to a third party who will handle the next sale
