crank up TV antenna

Hi Folks,
Recently we inadvertently cranked the antenna down with out first lining up the arrows! Now the antenna cranks down in all kinds of different positions. It also will not turn when in the up position. Obviously we have to do something to get it to work again. Has anyone else had to deal with this type of problem yet and if so how did you fix it? No rush since we do usually have either cable and or satellite service. But there will be times when we will want local channels so eventually want to get it working again. HamRad
