Residential Refrigerator Discontinued

We purchased a brand new 2022 3231CK with a residential refrigerator. It worked in our walkthrough at the dealership. Brought home and was not able to power up. After much troubleshooting took it back to dealership in August of 2023. They found it needed a new computer chip. Fast forward to today, part not going to be made and this model of fridge is being discontinued. Fortunately still under warranty, but is anyone else in the same predicament? Dealership waiting on Keystones solution.

Our ‘21 3231CK came with a GE residential unit. No problems so far.

Depending on what KS or the dealer is going to do for you and the timing, you might check a few online appliance shops to see if there are modules/chips in circulation. If you have the refer model number and the name of the part (part number would be best), you might be able to source it online. If you find one, maybe the dealer will be willing to order and install it.

Then again, maybe it’s better to hold out for a replacement unit. Hopefully they can decide and address it soon so your travel plans aren’t significantly disrupted.

Welcome to the MOC. Do some google searching. I'm sure it's out there somewhere.

We had an issue with the icemaker in our GE fridge. We scheduled service with GE directly. Their website told me that we were out of warranty. The service guy determined that it was in warranty due to the purchase date of the rig. Anyway, icemaker was fixed with no charge under warranty. Keystone dealers will not work on the residential anyway, so I went straight to the refer manufacturer. Great service!

We had an issue and discussed it was the GFCI behind the TV that tripped. Just something else to look at.

Does anyone else think it is crazy that many of the original refrigerators installed and the equivalent replacement do not fit through the door?

$1,800 to remove a window, swap refrigerators, and then "reassemble" the RV around it.

Nuts.

We had an issue with our residential fridge not getting cold. No luck with the dealer. Finally just called a local appliance repair guy. He said it was not much different than a home unit. He fixed us up and was gone in an hour. It did cost us about $200 but I still runs good 4 years later.

Keystone claims that refrigerators can be removed / installed without having to remove a slide for a large enough opening. Doors are 32" opening, so I suspect removing the doors from a refrigerator would allow removal and installation of a new unit.
