Well what a 'ya know! I got an email from Shelley late yesterday evening. Still thinking about the reply as we were offered a warranty until August of this year. By the way, the warranty has now been expired for over 45 days, so it basically makes the warranty a 3 month one. We are still dealing with AC issues that were not even tested, much less resolved at the factory. I also received a fine in the mail from the State of Indiana stating they have a picture of our camper going through the toll booth without paying. I would hazard to say this is the same driver that bent the rear hitch all to hell and something tells me that he is the reason the rear bumper was replaced with a used, rusted one when it got back home, but no one will talk about it.

Personally, I dont think what manufacture you end up using, there is always going to be some QC issues of some sorts or another, and some worse than most. My last 2 5'ers have been Forest River Wildcats, and both were a major pain in the keester.. namely the biggest was the issue of axle alignments and tire wear. I cant tell you how many tires I went though in a span of 8 years with those units; infact 2 blown within 50 miles of each other, and no spare for the last one. I dont think I am rough on these units and my last one went through 2 broken spring leafs in one trip, never curbing it, that I recall. With this new 3440RL, the only real big issue was the motherboard for the computer control, which was replaced. Last trip, when was another thread here, was on the Norcold refrig not cooling correctly, and thanks to another member here, he gave his idea and surely that was it, so no need to take it to the repair facility 100 miles away. I have yet tried the AC units, and that might be another bug, but wont now until next month on our trip to WY. Probably the best RV I ever had was a 2000 Everest 38 footer, which was made by Keystone also, but dont think they are made any longer.

Golfmedik ... in reference to your esteemed delivery driver ... look at it this way ... if your unit survived the obvious "damned the torpedoes full speed ahead" abuse it took coming back to you ... she must have been rebuilt "hell for stout" ... or ... the other shoe I talked about many many replies back is about to fall.

ben told me that my roof issue was not correct but that since it was poorly designed they would do nothing and I should check my caulking every month. Ben is a company stooge.

Well the pedestal on our kitchen table peeled apart like a ripe grape only thing holding it to the table top was the long threaded rod. Nothing wrong with the wood but the cheap staples used to hold these things together do not hold up to the "rolling earthquake" we experience driving down the road. When we turned the table over to disassemble it for repair we found other "loose and pulling apart things on the under side of the table. The table top would have separated from the pedestal in due time.Don't know what the RV manufactures have against screws but rebuilding the pedestal with screws will hold it together forever.

Same thing happened with the shelves in the bedroom that collapsed the bottom of the kitchen chairs the trim over the kitchen slide. I must have spent 3.00 in screws to repair all of that.

It's not only the cost of the screws the installation where the real cost is. Staples go in ten times faster. An engineer gets paid to make things cheaper not better. I'm not saying they shouldn't use screws, they would certainly be better but as long as they cost more you can forget it.

Just to put things in perspective, Jayco just recalled 13,000 2017 trailers of all types due to a possibility of the LED light fixtures causing fires.

Let me get this right your bedroom shelves collapsed the bottom of the kitchen chairs and then the trim over the kitchen slide.
And then you fixed it all with $3 in screws. Amazing!

I agree this has gotten TOO long, but I will say all of us have had issues, So far we have had great luck with Keystone. They are covering a slide cable repair (which is a design error and they know it) but we are our of warrantee and it is being covered. I have fixed other small items and I expect that considering how the unit bounces down the road. I had an SOB and had similar issues. Find a good dealer and hopefully you do not have the issues like Golfmedic! Still love the 5er! And believe it or not, my dealer is Camping World!

Yep, agree 100%. It's time to move on. Just a bunch of mostly bashing now.

I do not know how truthful comments are bashing especially when I just learned a few new areas to check when mine finally gets out of warranty service. However I do feel Jayco posts are a bit unnecessary in a Montana forum.
