Hydraulic Fluid

My DH is looking for what type of hydraulic fluid to have on hand for the hydraulic slides. We have a new 2018 3790 RD. We can't find the info in the paperwork we have. Thanks,

This is copied from the Lippert manual:

The Lippert Electronic Leveling System is pre-filled, primed and ready to operate direct from the
manufacturer. Type “A” Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) is utilized and will work. ATF with Dexron III® or
Mercon 5® or a blend of both is recommended by Lippert Components, Inc.

And, if you experience a popping from your levelup system, this is the document that explains how to add stiction fluid to your system: https://www.lci1.com/assets/content/...heets/0295.pdf

At the Nebraska rally we called Lippert and they say if your fluid is brown then it's regular hydralic fluid. We'd never heard of that, but that's what the Lippert tech said and he sent a list of acceptable fluids mostly ATF, but also said standard hydraulic fluid depending on what you started with.

Hi

It is all 10W petroleum oil mil speck 5606 with different additives in it. You will not damage the system using any 10W petroleum oil from sewing machine oil to hydraulic jack oil.

I don’t recommend any synthetic oils for these systems and not mixing the synthetic oil with petroleum oil.

As for the brown oil I have no reference to that color in my technical information hydraulic oil even the stuff Cat and JD use is clear.

Using what is priestly in the system is also recommended if you purchased the unit new I would use the Lippert recommended fluid but because of the lack of a quality control on the production line there is now telling what was installed at the factory.

Do not use automotive brake fluid under any circumstance.
