Putting in a Fan-Tastic vent fan
In my 3400rl there is a ceiling vent between the shower and the bathroom door. I am considering putting in a Fan-Tastic vent in there to vent moisture while showering and to draw in cool night air through the windows while sleeping.
I am guessing the install isn't too difficult? I am curious where power would come from in this location? Do you just tap into a ceiling light circuit I assume?
When dry camping, do they have a lot of battery draw?

Mark, just curious why you wouldn't mount it in place of the smaller vent fan in the toilet closet. That is what I plan to do in the near future. Seems easier to utilize the preexisting wiring than to have to pull new wiring through the ceiling. It would serve as a dual purpose fan then. Tim

I suppose that is a good question. 
What I was reasoning I guess was:
The bathroom already has a fan that is adequate for venting that little closet. I also figured that the Fan-Tastic vent outside of that closet would be much better at removing humidity during/after a shower than behind the closed door of the bathroom. We always have that door closed. The vent space under that door isn't very big.
Same thing with cooling at night, I figured the door to the bathroom would really have to stay open at night to get good venting through the windows with that fan running. Maybe I'm wrong about that?
It would for sure be an easier install to replace the little fan in the closet. No doubt.

I had a bathroom type fan installed in that same location on my 3400. They ran 12v to the light fixture closest to the entry and shower. That fan fell apart so I replaced it with a "Vortex Replacement Vent Fan" that I bought from camping world. After I saw what the mobile tech did I'd certainly tackle the job myself and did so to install the Vortex which was super easy. As per the voltage draw, I can't answer that.

In the 3800 the bath is all in one room, but they still put in a crappy vent that had the tiny bladed, 3 inch or so, fan that really didn't do the job too well. I removed it and installed a Fan-tastic Create-a-breeze fan that allows for air in or air out...3 speeds...and the current draw i 3 amps on high, 2.29 on medium, and 1.86 on low. And low is moving a lot of air! If you pull the inside vent housing down (4 screws) then you should be able to see if there is already a 12vdc feed there already. John

This would be my choice as well. The stock bathroom fan is a loud, inefficient POS.

I recently had a fan-tastic fan installed in the bedroom. The dealer charged me 1 hour labor. The model installed is temperature controlled option and has reverse to pull air out or draw air inside.

We have three factory installed fantastic fans. First thing I tell guests, turn off fan when you flush! That fan can cause a "very unpleasant environment" if on while flushing toilet!

We did the same as you are wanting to do. I purchased a Fan-Tastic fan to place in the vent above the bed to help out when in hot weather. That lasted for 3 years until I finally just had to get a second AC. When we had the second AC installed in the bed room I took the Fan-Tastic fan and placed it in the vent between the shower and the toilet room to vent moisture while we showered. I took the 12v power from the pancake light next to the vent. Works great. Vents out when showering, and vents air in when we need cool air but not AC.

In our old Cougar we had a Fantastic Fan installed with the temp setting and reversible feature. No rain sensor, but we put on a vent hood so we could still run it in the rain. Worked great. Just picked up our Mountaineer and see they are using Max Fans instead of Fantastic. These come with rain sensors and have control panels mounted on the wall to open vent and turn to different speed settings. They do not have the temp sensor and are not reversible. I'd give up the rain sensor for the temp and reversible features but perhaps Max Fan doesn't offer that.

I replaced the bathroom vent with this below. I got it at Camping World for around $99.
