keys

If anyone has lost a key for their Montana. Here is the number
1-800-837-2505 or 1-574-262-2505.
They have 51 different key numbers so it is very unlikly that your neighbor's key will fit your Montana if you should lose your key.
I believe the keys are around $1.50 each plus shipping and they ship them by mail so that isn't much. Cost us $6.68 for two keys.

Thanks Dusty & Don for the posting with the phone number
I think you will find the the top lock on all Montana's have the same key but the lower, dead bolt, is the one with 51 different key numbers.
Thanks again,

Yes that is correct. The dead bolt is the one with 51 different numbers.

We have a 2007 3000rk MONTANA. Our son has a 2001(I think) Cougar. We just tried our keys in his lock and sure enough it opened both locks. We were really surprised it worked.

With a very few exceptions, all fifthwheels and travel trailers use one of two basement keys, either the 751 or the 347 (or is that 374?). You can change locks but I don't bother since those basement doors can be popped open with a screwdriver in very short order. I would think one could rig up some secure locking system if they want to go to the trouble.

Great info Dusty, thank you. I would feel much more comfortable with another set of keys, maybe one to hide somewhere in case of the dreaded lock out.

That happened to me the other day at home while I was cleaning the camper. I didn't lock anything, left the camper and the door closed, went back and couldn't get in. I had to wait until Dick got home with his keys as mine were inside. I don't know how the darn thing locked?

It wasn't so bad because I was at home but had we been out camping and he was on one of this 40 mile or so bike rides, I'd have been stuck or emptying the basement with hopes of climbing in the laundry shoot...that is if the bathroom door wasn't opened.

Yep I need another set of keys at least.

The number is on the key, right?

Patty

We once tried our keys in a Class A. The door wasn't the same fut we could open several of his storage bays.

We were all shocked. I'm not sure if we had the Montana then or our other 5th wheel.

A lot of the keys and locks are made by Tri-Mark company in New Hampton, Iowa. I know that Keystone, Featherlite, and Fleetwood all use Tri-Mark locks. I am sure thet they may use other brands also. My daughter-in-law work there.....JB

As we got home last Monday. Don lost his keys. That left only my set. After I ordered two keys, he found his keys! Now we have 4 keys. We can never have too many keys.
I ordered them Tuesday morning and they arrived today, Thursday! Fast service!

Oh yes he found them on the riding lawn mower. On the mower deck. I am happy he didn't lose them on our 5 acres while mowing. Would never have found them!
