Slide outs

I have a 3400rl the Kit. Slide dose not come out all the way out. One side of it comes all the way the other side is about and inch from being all the way. Does anyone know how to adjust this?

You didn't say what year your unit is. This could have a lot to do with the answers you could get from the forum members on your question! Just post the year of your unit and possibly how much you use it! Are you fulltimers, part-timers or use it just for vacations?

There are adjusting nuts outside under the slide. On each side there are two pairs of nuts locked together. One pair catches the metal push plate coming in and the other pushing out. They should have a small gap in between the two pairs on each side of the push plate. If you run the inner pair outward it will open the slide more. If you run the outer pair inward it will pull it in tighter. Just make small adjustments until you get the best fit both open and closed. Then lock the two back tight.

If you look under the slide you will see 2 square tubes and on the bottom of them you will see gear teeth. Under the tubes, mounted on the frame you will see a gear and a square tube or bar that connects the 2 gears. The two gears being connected to each other is what keeps the slide straight as it goes in and out. Check the bolts that connect the bar to the gears and check the gears themselves to make sure one of them isn't damaged.

I would suggest you go on the Lippert site and read up on slide room adjustments before attempting to adjust anything. Serious damage may result if the rod stroke is improperly adjusted. I've replaced the cylinder and made adjustments on ours. There is more to it than just adjusting the nuts on the cylinder rod. There are adjustments where the slide room attaches to the rack gears that 8.1al mentioned. These will square the slide with the rv wall. Only then should the cylinder stroke be adjusted if necessary.

Have you checked the shear bolts on both ends of the box tube that connects to the gear shafts?

Check the owner's manual, there's a good explanation in it.
