Do you blow out the lines, just add A/F to the drain traps and call it good? Do you drain the system and add A/F to the lines? Do you do both?
What's the coldest temps. you typically encounter with your winterizing method of choice?

I do both I have had problems in the Past when I just use air and no A/F I have been winterizing RV's for 34 Years

In the old days before we went full time I drained the low point valves, used the blow out method and used antifreeze in the traps. Lowest temp was -10 with a thirty MPH wind.

On our other Montana I just used air and never had a problem. With the current unit I use the pink stuff to make sure I protect the dish washer and washing machine.

I blow the lines, drain the low points, put pink stuff in the P traps and they put light bulbs where ever there is water left...like the water pump, referigerator, washer, etc.

I blow out, use antifreeze, and the blow that out so in the spring I have very little flushing to do and no taste. Over kill I know but it works.

When we started out camping, winterizing the tent just meant putting it away for the winter, when we graduated to a truck camper we drained the fresh water tank and the electric pump and hand pump to the sink, wow then we got one with a biffy and I started using RV antifreeze, I have used it ever since and have never had a freeze up in temps as low as -30F. The Montana of course takes more antifreeze to ensure all the pipes are done but even at that it is a maximum of 3 gal and I buy a spare gallon to dump down the drains of all three tanks to protect the valves and the traps.

Some things you cannot blow out but for some that is sufficient due to the temperatures they encounter.

There's so many sags in any one of your water line runs ... the low point drains are pretty useless except for the immediate area. I drain the HWH, blow out my lines including low point drains, black tank flush, and power fill line on back to the fresh water tank ... Add pink stuff to the p-traps and call it good. Last year we dropped to -12 once. We hit low single digits for several days during the winter anymore. The plastic lines in our units are way more forgiving than the old copper or PVC once used industry wide.

I pump the pink stuff thru all the lines. Low 20's common with occasional dips to mid teens. Been a long time since we have seen single digits.

I have been draining then pumping the pink thru the system of course after draining the water heater then bypassing same I all ways make sure there is plenty of antifreeze in the toilet bowl figure that will keep the seal from drying out the coldest I have seen it here was last year -35 (monty in inside a unheated polebarn)

Always do both (blow & AF), never had any problems, temps in a bad winter can get to -20. Camper stored in a unheated pole barn. Take care.....

Most years I don't do anything unless temps are going to be low 20s or colder for long, then I drain the waterheater and low point drains.

Drain all lines turn valves to winterize position and pump RV antifreeze(3 gal) thru all lines. Time wise I feel this method is quicker and easier for me. I rather spend my $10 bucks for antifreeze than new plumbing supplies.

We are usually out of here by mid December so all I do is drain lines, hot water heater and if I remember AF in sinks and shower. It got down to 15 degrees last winter and then I put heater in trailer. I am in covered storage and never have blown out lines even with the older trailer sitting out all winter when I was working and could not go to Arizona.
