Waxing The Front Cap

I back the truck up to the front and apply Zep Wet Look Floor Wax

($24.99gl @ Lowes) with an applicator pad mounted on an extension handle. I'm too damn old to get up on a ladder

Werner 8 foot stepladder and lower your front jacks to lower the height you are working. When compete just autolevel.

Wash and Wax

Paying to have it done is a whole lot cheaper than a hospital stay!!!

I use the 22 foot little ladder. You can put it up in an A shape than straddle both sides for support if need be. My preference for wax is Meguiars Ultimate paste.

Re: products I used a product called Poly-Glo this fall on the front and back caps. It looks like "Brand New"! Also seems to repel the dirt better. It's made for fiberglass boats which was the main reason I bought it. Does a great job there too and reduces the algae and debris line. A bit $ but worth it for a 1x a year treatment. And No....this isn't a paid commercial!! Cheers.

Waxing the front cap

I use scaffolding I purchased at Tractor Supply. It rolls and adjust to 6 ft. Comes in handy for a lot of projects.

A tall step ladder won’t work because it keeps me more than arm’s length away from the top of the cap. I suppose it’s possible to apply wax to the top of the cap by reaching down from the roof but that’s risking a nasty fall. Anyone have a good solution? Maybe I’m missing something obvious in my old age.
I put swim noodles on the ladder.cut to length slice down middle put on ladder.

I agree with waynemore, too old to fall that far. Used to use 10’ step ladder.

When the trailer was brand new, I removed all the stupid decals from the cap (Because vinyl ALWAYS starts fading and cracking with exposure to sun.). I now apply Nu Finish, working from both a ladder and also from the roof of the trailer. I buff it with my Dewalt Polisher, then apply 303 protectant over it all. I do this in Apr and October each year, with frequent washings between. (The whole trailer gets this treatment, not just the front cap.)

I have thought about the same thing. Monty is at the dealer with the manuals. Will call Keystone CS when I get it back and if I remember. can you imagine claying and ceramic for a full body paint?
