Anyone wintering in Arizona

We will be heading for Mesa, AZ in late October to work camp 10 hours each per week for our site. We will probably stay from 3-6 months. Just curious who else will be in Arizona for the winter. We will be staying at Palm Gardens (link below) . Anyone else staying close by..........Les and Sue

Les & Sue,

We are heading out for Yuma, AZ on the 19th of this month. You will be about 200 miles from where we are staying. We may be picking up relatives from the Phonix Airport sometime in November, so we might get a chance to stop by and say hello? Looks like a beautiful park!

Voyager RV Resort, not cheap, but Sue and I loved it, and will migrate there soon.

Oh boy. Can I answer this one. Last year we stayed in Benson at the Escapee's Park for about a month. It was great. We visited almost every park in Tucson and they were pretty good but also quite costly. We moved south for a short time to meet up with friends. Also great. (and cheap) Next we were on the way to Yuma but had a calling to Rocky Point in Mexico about half way there. By the time we reach Yuma, we found our favorite spot at La Quinta's. The only place that is better is in Mel and Joy's yard. We really loved La Quinta's but left there for Quartzite for the RV Show and a big rally that we attended, capped by a mini rally with the Montana Owners. How much better can it get? We returned to Yuma to finish our dental work in Mexico but came too late to get back in La Quinta's. Bummer. You can really get the details by going to our website and go back to the end of October. Just remember though, if you can't find a spot, Mel and Joy have a great yard. LOL

Another vote for Voyager RV Resort located in Tucson. Actually, once I get transferred out to Arizona that is where I intend on full-timing. I stopped by Voyager last year, and I loved it. All adult community (generally 55 and above) with lots of ammenities. If you e-mail them, they will send you a packet in the mail.

Hi Rich & Helen....We did stay in Yuma last year for a month at Del Pueblo RV Resort and loved it. A very beautiful and well kept park. Here is the website http://www.delpueblorv.com/ ....Les and Sue

Les, we're going to spend our first winter in Arizona, near Phoenix and Sun City after a stop at Quartzite. Mesa isn't that far away and it would be great to see you two again.

Hey Helen, it's okay, we would really love see anyone who may want to stop by. Our extra space at our lot is now rented, but we would love to help out anyone who needed to stay a day or two. We might be able to put them up next to the side of our house where Mel's folks live, down the street. I know they'd like it! Because....

One thing that will be nice, is, we are, as I type, having a 16' X 40' pool put in at the house, It is going to be our "party pool", we are also having a 32' pool house built next to it! Last one in is a rotten egg! !

It seems that quite a few people winter down in Yuma every year. We plan on being down there by the week of the 20th this month, I'll try and see if I can find all the "good" places and report back. This will be our first real "whole" winter here, so I should be able to find some time to do some looking around. Up until now, our visits down there have been to help our Folks settle in. Now it's our turn. We plan on doing a lot of exploring, and of course landscaping around the new pool!

You have a real nice place there Joy. I can just picture the pool and all the fun you will have. I just love the foothills area. I'm so glad it is finally your turn.

Hi Everyone -- we will be wintering in Yuma again this year --- we stay at the Cocopah RV Resort. Expect to arrive late November -- plan on stopping in Salt Lake City on the way down to do some more research on family history. Hope we will be able to meet up with some of you this winter.

We plan to be in the Quartzite area toward the end of January for about a week. Hope to see many of you out in that part of the world. We had a great time last year with the "Mini MOC" Rally group. Everyone is welcome to join us out somewhere off of the Plamosa Road area.

We have stayed at several places out toward the Mesa area. There are hundreds of places to stay. We also recommend the Usary Mountain county park. I've still got our pictures of that area posted. Only draw back to that park is there are no sewer connections. But they do have good dump stations. This is probably our favorite park in this part of the world. I don't remember the names of the commercial places we stayed but they were all nice. A bit close together but still nice.

Happy travels to all.

We are heading for Tucson for about 3 weeks and staying at Beaudry RV Park. Just finished a month there (my Mom and Dad are in Tucson), then we are spending Jan - Mar in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
