Furnace or hot water heater will light

Hey guys Iam a full timer been one year this month in my Montana high country 365. Came home tonight neither furnace nor hot water heater will light. Furnace fan kicks on then off. Typical when out of fuel. I have two full tanks the catch is neither hot water heater or furnace is clicking like it’s trying to light. Any insight please

Try turning your tanks off then slowly opening the valve. Sometimes when you open them too fast, it will not allow gas to flow. Does the stove and refrigerator work?

Thanks. Yes I have did that and bleed off the line either the stove. While out side neither the furnace nor the water heaters igniters can be heard trying to light. Never had a problem out of either one. Just cam home from work and noticed furnace off. It wouldn’t relight just blow the fan. So I thought I’ll try the water heater. It also wouldn’t click like it was going to ignite

Problem fixed. For whom ever this may help I unbolted the furnace cover on the out side and turned the switch to the off and then the reset position. Furnace fired right up. What I would like some in site on would be what could trigger this to need reset. Thx

Try to cut the gas off then loosen the holding strap and jiggling the tank around then cut the gas back on VERY VERY slowly.

What about the water heater? Does it now light after the furnace reset?

Did it rain with some wind behind it. On my 2017 that will cause water to get into the furnace and short out the board. Once it's dried all it takes is the reset.

Update the furnace worked fine yesterday after hitting the reset button woke up this morning it was cold and had quit at some point in night. Pushing the temperate up button didn’t prompt it to kick and light, but I turned it off and back on at thermostat which prompted it to light. Any thoughts.

Wonder if 12vdc power for furnace and water heater is coming from a single source and is not a good connection like a bad crimp or twist on connector. That sure would cause the control boards to freak out like you have been seeing.

When you turned thermostat OFF and back on this cleared the “lock out” condition the furnace experienced. After 3 unsuccessful light attempts the furnace control module goes into lock out and can only be cleared by turning thermostat off or killing ALL 12vdc to RV..

The water heater has its own control module and is a separate issue.. if 12vdc to both modules gets much below 11.5 volts neither will operate

Are you certain converter and battery are providing over 13 volts DC if plugged into shore power?

Thanks ‘ Iam unsure how many volts Iam truly getting. My battery display says full charge but I understand that’s not real accurate., I am plugged into a 50 amp site noticed tonight that if I turn the gas rocker switch on the red fault light, lights up.

The red LED lights up when you start the gas water heater. As soon as flame is detected, it is turned off. The WH will make 3 tries to light. If no success after 3 tries, it quits leaving the LED illuminated. You have to turn the switch Off then On to try again.

I just went through the whole furnace goat rope over the last few days. One thing I learned is that after (I think it is 3) times of failing to light, there is a soft lockout... you have to reset the switch to get past the soft-lockout..

Thanks all.gas water heater is working. I took the cover off the furnace again tonight. Resetting the switch no longer works, but I did find the blinking light on the circuit board. It flashing the upper limit switch code. One flash 3 seconds then another. Is this guy hard to find and change?
