Backup lights installed finally

After doing the stop/tail/turn lights for the rig almost two years ago and getting tired of seeing the clear LEDs laying around, I decided to finally install them today. The top ones are the stop lights and the ones under them are 10 Superdiode LEDs from Etrailer that are clear and very bright. I knew I wanted them last winter as arriving at a few locations near dark was challenging, so I wanted to mitigate that this year. The lights are around $22 each and are tapped into the RED reverse and WHITE ground wires on these mundane stock lights with Posi-taps for ease. Resealed them and are now good to go with a much better view while getting into a site.

Looks good! Cant beat LEDs , you would think this would be from the factory. Our 381 has back up lights with the tail light cluster, but not LED, thinking of doing what you did & change the tail lights. we have another toyhauler 1/2 the price that came with all exterior LEDs.

One would think!! On my factory lights, since my stock lights background is black, I took aluminum foils a placed it behind the bulbs to make the bulbs brighter. Cheap and it works.

I don't recall ever seeing a Montana with a spare tire carrier on the bumper either.

The 3790/91 Legacy Packages do not have a molded rear cap.

It's not on the bumper, it's in the rear hitch. I carry two spares after having one detonate on us and then the other went flat later that day. And yes, they were G614s. When on the interstate, the tire blows and you have to see it or be warned about it, then get the unit to the shoulder. With both tires being loaded and hot, when one blows the weight is then solely on the remaining tire until you get it stopped. Most of the time, that tire will be damaged in some respect. When I blow one, I change them both on that side to keep the remaining one from damaging the camper more than the first one did. I used to carry it in the bed of the truck, but now carry firewood for local trips there now.

I could have ordered the "Legacy" edition for our coach also, but it would NOT have had the rear cap either, due to it being the rear kitchen model they said.It wasn't any cheaper without the cap either, had they offered to reimburse me the cap price, I more than likely would have gotten the upgrade to the Legacy Pkg.

Very nice. Our 2018 Monty came with those same terrible little tail lights that you have. I replaced them with a set of Bargman red LED lights. I then mounted a pair of clear white LED ovals under the rear end on the hitch receiver. Brake lights work great, even on a bright sunny day.

I still find it sad that we feel as we have to do this to the best selling rigs in the country. If you have a second or two, post up a pic of your lights.

Can you see me now?

Here is my solution to the not so bright stock rear tail lights. They are relatively cheap ($15 ea.) led strip lights meant to go below your trucks tailgate. They are wired to the camper so that they act as turn signals/brake lights/running lights and reverse lights. When the truck is in reverse the stock reverse lights (changed to LED) and the strip lights (which turn white) come on

All I can see is the cool storage being lit up. No seriously I like your storage and lights also.

That is a nice MOD. Is the red back up lead part of the stock tail light wiring? I would also like to replace tail lights with LED but I haven't found any the same size as the stock one's. I was a bit disappointed that Keystone used so many LED's inside but the old style incondesent's for tail lights.
