Where to before or after Quartzsite?

We wil be leaving San Jose Califonia at the end of December to start our life as fulltimers and will start by going to the MOC circle at Quartzsite. This will be our first trip to Quartzsite.

What suggestions are there for where we should stop on our way to Quartzsite and what suggestions for where we should go after Quartzsite?

Here is the trip that we have planned, but since we only have 2 months, we wil not be staying any one place more than 3 or 4 days.
You may want to hit Carlsbad, NM befor Big Bend NP but for us it will be on the way back.

Out
Oregon, Salinas, CA (going to Montery and Carmel) - Santa Barbara - Indio - Yoma - Quartzsite - Tuscon -
El Paso - Terlinga (Big Bend) - Junction, TX - San Antonio - Dallas (for a hockey game) -
Corpus Christi - South Padre Island
Return
South Padre Island - San Antonio - Fort Stockton - Carlsbad, NM - Las Cruses - Scotsdale - Bullhead City -
Sam Marcos, CA - San Nella - Redding - Oregon.

Should give you some ideas here.

Grant & Kathy, I am leaving Fairfield on Monday, will RON in Bakersfield, San Diego next day for a month, Phoenix for a month, back to Quartzsite for MOC Rally, then off to Vegas for a month, then to Tucson for MOC rally and rest of winter. Will leave Tucson in April for north country. Hope to see you along the way and especially at Q.
