Leak in Gas Line

Hi All,
We have had our Montana (used 2013) for a couple months now and have already gone through 1 1/2 propane tanks! After further investigation we found there is a gas leak. First of all, Hubby determined the regulator was bad on one of the tanks and changed that out. No leak there now. But we are still loosing gas somewhere. He thought there might be a small hole in the pipe that runs along the wall in the storage compartment, nope not the case. He has tried a few things and nothing works. (I will get more details from him and post again). In the meantime has anyone had this issue or any suggestions on what or where to look?

Otherwise, loving the Montana!
Candy

I had 2 leakes on my brand new unit. door side regulator leaked and door side brass reducer, that connects to Iron crossover pipe was cracked. found both by mixing up some soapy water and turning on the gas. pour soapy water over pipes and connections, a leake will produce bubbles. good luck!

Jason and I had a similar problem. Leak was at the crossover pipe. In our case the pipe had been over threaded and so the connector couldn't seal properly. Since ours was under warranty I had a professional cut the pipe down. After that no problem.

I would buy a gas detector gizmo. I have one because of a leak I had several years ago. You can place it right beside the pipes and fittings, etc and it will pick up any gas. Then you know what the problem is. Oh, my problem was the short pigtail rubber hose coming off one of the tanks.

Sorry to hear of your problem. I had a gas leak and decided to take it not to a rv dealer but to the local propane dealer. They were most helpful and discovered the leak to be the change over regulator.
I think they took upon themselves to prove their leak detection skills there was no charge since they did not sell a replacement but were quick to use their tools to find the leak. Saved a bunch of money and ordered a replacement online. This was when I owned SOB.

Check the copper line where it enters the refrigerator. Easy to access (soap or gas sniffer), and the source of many gas problems.
