Amana Colonies
If you ever get the chance to spend some time in Amana,Iowa I know that you will enjoy it. We stayed at a very nice campground called Amana RV Park. It was a Passport America Park and quite big. It would be a great place for a Rally. The Amana Colonies consist of seven different villages each about one hour form the next one. By Oxen. That is about two - three miles apart by car. Each village has something special to offer and a whole lot of history. Great stop only about six miles off I-80.

Sounds like an awesome place for a Central region rally. As we already have a Central region rally scheduled for Branson in 07 maybe someone would want to take the reigns for Amana in 2008.
Nothing like getting an early start.

I agree. We were there in 2003 and thought it was very interesting.

Visited Amana on our way to the rally in September. We only scratched the surface, so hope to explore further some day. Enjoyed it very much.

We overnighted there on our way "home" from the Goshen rally. We had the pleasure of having dinner with Chaser (Mike and Evy) and Jim and Marcia (Jim and Marcia) while there. There is plenty of room there for a rally. The day we left the place was filling up with another rally.

They told us that they plan on doubling the space and having over 200 with full hook up and 50 amp service. They said their is a real call for this service and they plan on answering it.

In the Blue Bunny parking lot, maybe? With free samples on demand?

I tell you what. Any time any of you are passing thru my neck of the woods I will treat you to an Ice Cream sundae you won't soon forget. Now that I know you and Vicki's weakness for bunny tracks ice cream I had an extra lock installed on the freezer. After I told Vicki I had Ice cream at the Rally I wasn't sure if she was going to continue taking pictures or stop and eat some Ice Cream in the middle of the afternoon.
But I was thinking maybe some of us that live in the Hawkeye state could work together and host a little mini rally near the Amana colonies area.

Ron,
If I am in the area at the time of your upcoming mini-rally, you can count me in....
BTW, how is the pink lady (Ford) treating you these days?? I am going to look at a King Ranch sometime Monday afternoon.

Ron, I'm not sure if she went for the ice cream right away or waited until later. I went right away. Her favorite is bunny tracks. Mine is homemade chocolate and homemade vanilla.

The Pink Lady has been watching out the kitchen window this past weekend while we camped for Halloween and had over a thousand trick or treaters.

Ron,
Over 1,000 trick or treaters?? Holy buckets, that is alot of candy. Sounds like a great thing you guys do for the kids, providing a safe place for trick or treating. =)
PS~ I really love those King Ranch seats....

We had a blast with the kids. Even got me dressed up in a big chicken suit and Melinda dressed up as the bear in the big blue house. Went thru lots of candy but seeing all the little kids and there parents having a good time is all worth it. And all the proceeds went to building new playground equipment for the park.
