Across the road from our campsite here at Gulf SP is a 2003 Montana 2955RL. On the way down here from MN in freezing weather, the couple that own it found that their furnace would not work. It would run for about 30 seconds and then shut off. An RV tech en route suggested that the igniter board might be faulty, but further trouble shooting by another tech here in AL could find no fault with the furnace, rather that the gas supply pressure after the regulator was too low. This pointed to a regulator problem. A call to the mfr (Marshall Gas Regulator Co) revealed the information that this is a common problem with Keystone products because of something to do with the way Keystone sets up the piping on the low pressure side of the regulator. A call to Montana Customer Service revealed that they were unaware of any such problem. Certainly we have not had this problem, nor have a handful of owners of other Keystone products of our acquaintance. As it now stands, Marshall Gas Regulator Co is going to courier a new (different type) regulator to the park, and they will talk a local RV tech through the installation. This all seems very strange to me. Has anybody else had problems like this?
(The trailer is out of its warranty period, but Keystone did offer to fix anything that was found to be wrong that was their fault)
