Worn Plastic Bushings, Bolts, Hangers Photo

Here is a selection of used hardware. At the top are two brand new hangers and two new bushings still in their plastic baggies.

Notice how the used bushing have worn through, usually on one side. If you look closely at the bolt threads you can see how they were damaged during removal. This is after approximately 12,000 miles.

My old hangers are slightly different from Jerry's. My new hangers more closely resemble his, so your suspension parts may look a bit different.

Bushings are made in assorted colors, I've seen black, white, red, orange just to name a few. Some manufacturers use colored bushings to identify parts. (orange 2,000lb black 6,000lb etc), but the bushings themselves are all the same.

Thanks again Gruffy,

I think I will try the zerk fittings from Dexter if I can get them.

Great pictures.

Boy, a picture is worth a lot. Thanks. Sure is an attention getter. Will monitor mine on a regular basis.
