Bed Cover

I have an F350 Long Box with a low profile tool box. The lid rises about the bed rail 1-3/4" and the box lid width is 22-1/4". The clearance between the lid, when closed, and the bed rail is no more than a 1/16". That leaves roughly 6'-2" of bed uncovered. All parts of my hitch receiver are below the top of the bed rail.

What recommendations would you make for a bed cover? I would like for it to be as free from leaks as possible. What is a good website to gather info? Any information or resource will be appreciated.

Stiles,
I went with a soft tonneau cover (EX Tang - Black Max). It has bows and snaps to rails that mount above the bed rail. The down side it decrease the clearance between bed rail and trailer by 1 inch.
Here is a link that has many tonneau to look at. Good luck.
Cheers,

Mine is an Access soft roll up cover. The rails are built into it so that it all rolls up together. Heavy Velcro along sides. It works for us. The side rails sit on top of the box side, so that the cover is raised about 1-1/2 inches above the side. It might be a tight fit over your box. You would have to see one to be sure. They are pretty common if you look around campgrounds.

Thanks for the info. I am still having trouble though. The only thing showing above the bed cap is my tool box lid. The lip of the lid comes within a 1/16" of the cap and the latch bar. which goes all the way across the bed. extends about 1" below the top of the cap.

I called Extang factory rep and he says Extang RT can't fit up to this low profile tool box. So I called Access customer service and he says, "Maybe, but I will have to roll up the cover to get to the tool box latching release bar which, as I stated drops down an inch. I am not too sure that will work because then I will not be able to seal up the front of the cover against the tool box lid.. Perhaps I am destined not to have a bed cover. Ideas welcome.

Stiles this is the one that I keep coming back to. It lets you get into the front quickly and also be able to roll the back up when needed.

Stiles -
We have the Truxedo also. The nice thing is that the support bars are also velcroed in place. Tonight I was bringing a TV stand home in the back and it was above the bed rails. So, I took two of the support rails off and it just sat nicely across the top. It was really good since it was raining and snowing (it is April, isn't it?) and didn't want it on a wood cabinet. Just a thought.
