I have a 2013 285rld. 31ft and change. Think that is the shortest they made. Only 2 slides. Works great for us.

Chip,

Thats what we thought. We had a 2015 Mountaineer 310RET. Just picked up a 2017 3950BR. Drove it from North Dayton, OH to Harrison Twp. MI with no issues. Then...backed it from the street onto the pad in the back yard. I found it easier than the Montana to back up. Just had to take into consideration the additional length. And, did it without a backup camera. We also snowbird and reviewed all the places we have overnighted and camped at and only thought of a few spots where the additional length and 8 more inches in height would have been an issue. So, look for the layout that suites you both the best. See you at the Rally!

Very interesting that you guys with the longer rigs haven't had any issues. I haven't either with our 3400 but thought it was plenty long enough. Well I say that but you have to be a little picky about the site the CG assigns you. Can't be bashful about rejecting an assigned site. I am getting better at that.

I find the height is a problem at many campgrounds if they are treed and have low hanging branches. I have often asked the owners to trim them. I also carry a telescopic tree pruner with me which I have also used.

35' seems to be my sweet spot. Ours is 39' and a bit more hassle than our 35' Cameo was.

3130RE has replaced the 3000RE, very similar with changes to the rear TV. Don't know about a 3160 replacement but we are really happy with ours.

If you have to know the length of any camper you will have to physically measure it. None of the manufacture #s are correct. Example; I own a 2011 3455sa and keystones web site says its 37 foot 4inches. I built a pole building and had to know its exact length so I could make it deep enough. When I measured it from the tip of the mor ryde hitch to the rear ladder it was 38 foot 11 inches.

The only way is to get out the tape measure and measure it,We measure the part we have to park our 13 3402 is 40 feet 2 inches. Get what suites your needs if you are long timing or full timing the more room the better.

Keystone doesn't give you an actual length. What they give is from the center of the hitch to the back of the bumper which can be or let's say is a foot or more shorter than the actual length.

After 4 full years of owning a Montana 3400RL, we've decided to sell it and get something about 10 ft. (overall) shorter and a bit less tall too. I'm tired of having to stay out of the mountains, and ALWAYS worrying about tight turns that you just can't maneuver around, dips in the road that threaten the level up foot pads and the rear ladder, and low-hanging branches that break A/C shrouds and rip roofs. It has just kept me away from campgrounds I love and I can't go to them any more.
For those that stay in RV parks, these factors rarely matter. For those that enjoy getting into nature, they ALWAYS matter!
