Jim Boylan temporarily offline

We got a phone call this afternoon from Jim asking us to post here that his hotmail email account had been hacked. According to Jim (wasn't there a TV show by that name ), emails from that address have been sent to folks in his address book stating that he is stranded in London and needs the recipient to send him $1500 so he can get home. Jim said that we can send him the $1500 but he's not in London.

He's changed his email address and will be back online as soon as he's sure it's safe.

Same thing happened to me a couple of years ago. It was a pain to change everything. Best of luck!! P.S. Nobody ever did 'send me the money'!!?!?!

This just happened to me over Labor Day weekend. They got into my facebook account as well. The only difference was that my friends were told that I was mugged in Wales and needed money asap. They actually had the nerve to instant message friends who were online. Unfortunately this is happening more often and it's not just Hotmail accounts either so change your passwords often and don't use the same one for multiple logins. It's a real pain to manage passwords but it's a bigger pain to have your email hacked into.
