Pulled the Trigger Today

Sure makes me feel warm and fuzzy after shopping since January to say this. Just closed a deal on our first 5r only 1,100 miles away. Will pick it up in a couple of weeks and drive it a few miles to MORryde for a complete suspension upgrade (IS System, 8k axles, & disc brakes). Man, am I stoked on this deal.

We had looked at Solitude, Cedar Creek Champagne, DRV Mobile Suites, & Bighorn.

Congratulations on your soon to be in your possession unit. Very nice to be able to get the better suspension, higher rated axles and the disk brakes. Out of your list of SOB's what made you choose the Montana? We are looking at possibly getting something different is why I am curious what made the Montana the one for you. Happy roads to you.

Thanks folks. At the show last Feb. we looked at many as well as a Newmar MH - insurance cost ran us off. I liked the DRV but Joy was not happy with any of their floor plans. She really liked the 3750FL Bighorn - 2 upstairs living and under storage. Then we saw the Solitude 375RES & Montana 3791RD. Huge storage drawer under rear! She has boxes and boxes of Christmas decorations. The truck bed is always filled when we travel to a VRBO at Christmas. She liked the 3791, I liked the 375. Guess who won that battle. I'm a pretty good handiman so I'll be able to make general repairs, as I've read many things fall apart in both the new GD & KS 5r's. I'm really excited.

Congratulations! Hope you have many memorable adventures in it.

Where do you take it for the MORryde upgrades? Elkhart (Goshen)? I hate to ask about cost but if you are willing can you share about what they quoted for the upgrades? Sorry to ask. Thank you.

The place for the MORryde conversion is just a few miles from the Tiara RV Sales - in Elkhart, Indiana. Seems it's the RV capital of the world. Or at least the U.S.

MORryde International, Inc.
1966 Sterling Avenue
Elkhart, Indiana 46516
(574) 293-1581

We're going to get the MORryde IS upgrade to 8,000# axles with disc brakes. I was quoted for the 8k IS and disc $6,550 plus tax for the tandem axle by Rob Kolean service/warranty manager.

How much will the 8K axles increase your cargo capacity? Also will you be going to H rated tires? We are also looking at the 3791RD.

I've not given much thought to the ccc changing. Claim in brochure is around 3,500#. We will not add gen or w/d, just Joys overstuffed rear basement with decorations;=].

I might upgrade to 17.5" Sailuns ($1,500-$2,200) and sell the existing rims & tires later. The OEM tires are rated at 4,080# @110psi @75mph.
