Boston area campgrounds

We will be going to Boston in June and need to know about campgrounds. We will be going over to the Longwood Medical center--never have been to Boston, any info would be greatly appreciated

We have used the Boston KOA a couple of times...not bad. Has full hookups and price is not too bad. You can get complete info, including pricing and availability on the KOA website. This campground has a section in "the back 40" that we camped in a couple years ago...would not accept any site in that section again. Hope this helps.

We stayed at the Boston Minuteman Campground, north of town. many trees and nice folks running it. A little cramped getting in and out but doable. We have a long truck and 3400 and were able to get a spot. You must have reservations though...We were not far from the train station to get into town. JFK Library is amazing......So is the campus of Harvard in Cambridge...... Many historical areas, of course. We loved our stay there........

Boston is very nice. We've been up for BC/Clemson games. Lots of history to see. Make sure you visit Legal Seafood.

We had a very good experience at Wompatuck State Park. Located to the south, short drive to MBTA transit. No full hookups, Do have electric section, water for holding tank at many places, dump station, showers and flush toilets. Sites are shaded, well spaced and large. $14 night for non-residents. We stayed 10 days and enjoyed it. Don't know about location to Longwood Medical.

Not sure of any campgounds in boston but longwood is only a few blocks from fenway park, if your a sports fan that's a must see they have tours all day every day. I am at salisbury state park about 45 min from boston, 24 night non resident elec water dumpstation. 400 sites and at least half will handle your rig also right on the ocean. If you only have to go to longwood for a day trip or 2 It's a nice place. good luck

We stayed in Foxboro, MA at Normandy Farms.pricey but convient. Short cab trip/drive over to the MBT. We chose Normandy due to our commitments in Boston we could store the rig when we went into the city and boarded our pets nearby.

Paul -
We also stayed at Normandy farms. Check Internet for specials and coupons on their website. Nicest campground outside of Disney that we have stayed in to date. Have fun and don't forget your bike helmet.
