Price might be an issue, go to dealers web sites, look at what they are charging for a new 2008 or 09. Take about 30 % off that price, and that would be about what you could drive to walk away with a new unit tucked behind your TV. Is that close to what you want for a used unit. Even with just a few days/weeks of use, it still, sadly, is a used unit.

Did you check the online blue book type of web pages, that help you price out a unit for sale. I don't have the URL's, but, I know several of the fella out here in MOC land do, maybe they will come along and give us a bit of assistance here.

Ok so what I came up with New with that generator and the additional AC unit the new price would be $60,000. If I take 30% off of that it make mean I could sale my RV at $42,000. Do you thank thats about right?

Kayfer,

Price is certainly an issue.... probably the major issue. The $60K figure is a starting point for the dealers. Often or even always the figure will actually be somewhat less.

The figure of $42k may help some but seems to me to still be a bit on the high side. You do have some nice/expensive additions. The LP Generator and the 2nd AC. Those items might get you up to the figure you've listed but it is simply going to be whatever the market will bear.

I'd suggest you look in your local area to see what comparable rigs are selling for. If you are REALLY wanting to sell then be prepared to do some negotiating. By the way where is the rig located?

Good luck.

Kayfer,
Perhaps I'm the last guy you should ask as I seem to buy high and sell low. Not that this was a Montana but FYI: I just sold my 06 Komfort TT, 28' with all kinds of extras, including seeking sat, lazy boy chairs, 27" flat panel, etc. Book was 28,900. I got $19,000 which was $3000 more than the dealer trade. It took about 3 months to sell. The market here is very soft....gas is right at $4.00 now.

You might want to contact your insurance agent and see if he will tell you the book value if it was totaled. That may give you an idea. www.kbb.com and www.napa.com may give you some prices. My guess is that you are looking at $30-33K, maybe $35K.

IMHO, one thing you need to keep in mind, is that $60k price minus 30% for a sale price of $42k, is what a person would expect to pay for a brand new 08/09 trailer. So if I'm a buyer, I can buy your used 07 for $39.9 or a brand new never used rig, with warranty, for $42k. For $2,100, I want a new trailer.

Always sad to see a nice coach sold off.

You have our sympathies, and hope you get it done.

Good luck.

We bought a 2005 2955RL the first part of 2007 from a consignment at a dealership. We found the orginial invoice in the paper work of the trailer after we bought it and was going through all the manuals. The cost between what he paid and we paid was $19,000, it was garage kept and only used one season. It still smelled and looked new. At a later date we discussed the loss with the salesman and he said the first year in the RV industry if you buy new you loose 30 -40% depreciation. I don't know if that is really true but we feel we got ours at a fantastic price. Since then, we have looked at the 3 slide dreaming. The MSRP was $60,000 but the actual selling price was $50,000. So dealers sell way under the MSRP usually depending on the market is my guess. Then again... when we purschased our place we asked the owner the selling price .... he said the selling price is actually what one is willing to pay and one to is willing to accept! Make me an offer. After numerous offers back and forth we now own it. Good Luck.... there is a buyer out there for everything. It may just take patience and the right person to come along!
