To some it is staying in the Walmart parking lot. To me it's staying where there are no people let alone hook ups.

Boon Docking and Dry Camping, are pretty much the same thing. I have always called it dry camping, then it became boon docking for some others, No hook up available. when we went to the desert and parked on the dirt to ride the dirt bikes it was dry camping . or I guess you could be in the boon docks out in the middle of nowhere.

It's confusing because some folks are referring to overnighting without hook ups and others stay for months without hook ups. While most rigs can do the first, you need some additional equipment to do the latter.

Hi

We do it for a week once a year. The last week in February the limitation for us is water. We use a pair of EU200i generators for power but when the water tank goes dry we load the locomotive in the trailer and move on.

boon·docks noun plural \#712;bün-#716;däks
Definition of BOONDOCKS

1: rough country filled with dense brush

2: a rural area : out in the sticks : back country

Origin of the word BOONDOCKS:

It was coined by American soldiers stationed in the Philippines following the Spanish–American War as a mispronounced version of the Tagalog(One of the Philippine Languages) word, bundok, which means "mountain".

Here's a blast from the past.
