LCD TV installed in Bedroom
We're always looking for ways to gain new storage and reduce weight. I have been watching for a deal on a small LCD TV for the bedroom for sometime. Last week I found a great deal on an open box 13" Sharp. Here's a link to my most recent upgrade to the coach.

While I was at it I decided to mount the small DVD player we use in the bedroom to the bottom of the cabinet as well.

Nice job! How does the new cabinet look with the stock stuff? I would like to know exactly what wood/ply and stain you used.

Great addition to your bedroom!! I sure hope the folks at the factory are taking note of all the great changes and modifications that our members are making to their coach...

Nice job. I have a LED tv. for our bedroom. It is presently in the compartment. I would have to change the doors to place it outside.

You did a great job and I am shopping for an LCD for the living room so I really enjoyed seeing your project.

That is an awesome improvement! We have a travel trailer that has a cubby for the TV but you can't see it well from the bed and you can only view it from one side of the dinette (we don't have any slides on our little 23' travel trailer). This would be a great solution for us if we could also make it how the Monty has their's in the bedroom, on hinges where it swivels out where you can position it in an appropriate viewing position. However, unfortunately, my husband is not a handy man. So, we just bought an LCD TV and I sit it on a folding wire shelf on our booth table and we can place it in a position to watch it from the bedroom. Then, we get to look at the empty hole where the TV should go and with the wires all hanging down.

fulltimedreamer, great idea for the LCD tv. I'm not one for being able to post pics yet, but I installed the LCD between the overhead cabinet doors and put a door on the tv compartment for sweater storage. The tv was a 15" and it fits with a mere 1/8 clearance, but the cabinet doors do not hit it. Isn't it neat when we can make these Montanas fit our own personal lifestyles! I would also like to mount the LCD in the living room, but that will have to wait for another year.

Michael,
I have built several cabinets and doors for our coach. I use MinnWax Poly Shades (stain and polyurethane in one product)in Classic Oak with a satin finish. The oak boards come from Home Depot and they are referred to as Red Oak. In the kitchen where I have added several cabinets and doors, guests are always surprised to find out that the doors didn't come from the factory.

Wannabe Full-timer, You might consider a wall mount for that TV - the kind that swings out and swivels both left and right and tilts up and down similar to this one.

VanMan, what a great idea! Thank you so much. (Now, why didn't I think of this?!?) We are looking into this.
