a simple question on what type of caulking you are using to re caulk your sides?

and any suggestions on removing the old caulk.

This job is not easy. If you want to re-caulk your whole trailer, I hope you have lots of time and patience. We paid a dealer to do our previous trailer. Dealers sell the right stuff you need. I tried removing some caulking once and it was pretty difficult.

We take our trailer in every year and have the caulking checked using the Seal-Tech method. They increase the air pressure inside the trailer, then squirt soapy water all over the seams. If there are bubbles, then the caulking has been compromised and they attend to those areas.

I tried several things to remove caulk and found a product I bought at Ace Hardware that worked real well. It’s called McKanica Silicone Caulk Remover. It is a gel type substance. I used a toothbrush to spread it over the caulking, put saranwrap over it and let it sit for about 3 hours. I used a plastic scraper to scrape it off and the caulking came off fairly easy.
