Love Bugs

any good tricks for Love Bug Removal?? Looks like the best way is either to get a ladder and hand scrub OR hire it done Or ?? I use dryer sheets on the car but they are hard to put on a stick to reach the top.

When we pull in, that evening I wash off, generally just with water. Longer you wait, harder it is to clean.

X2 Wash off ASAP. I also use just water. I have an 8 foot extension pole with a soft bristle brush that I use for washing my unit that works great.

There is a light green pad called the love bug eraser that works great with a little water. Google love bug eraser for where to buy. Easy to fit onto a pad on an extension pole.

I use an old body shower puff that the D/W has worn out. It is abrasive to get the bugs off, but does not scratch. As noted above, get the bugs off soon, once the sun bakes them on it gets tough.

I make sure that the front has multiple coats of wax. It makes the bugs come off much easier. I agree with 1retired above but let it soak as long as possible with a mild soap. The soap will soften the bugs.

Try Purple Power. Spray it on brush lightly let set a few minutes brush lightly rinse off repeat if necessary. After a 5000 mile trip in the middle of the summer the bugs were thick on the front of my camper and it cleaned them off just this easy.
I've used it for 40 years and it has never harmed anything I've ever used it on. It's as good a tire cleaner as I have ever used. I always clean the bugs off my vehicles with it. When my high pressure washer won't clean my floor mats it easily will.
