Need Hitch height advise on new combo
I have a 2019 3500 Chevy dully with the puck system and a 2019 Monty 3811MS. Just purchased a Curt Q25 hitch and the problem is the trailer and truck are 600 miles apart. I would like to install the hitch before going to the trailer and trying to decide which height adjustment on the hitch I should use.
Does anybody have this combo and witch height adjustment is your hitch set for. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Bob

This is what I think I would do in your situation. Take the pin weight number just say 2000 the truck capacity just say 4000, with the numbers I would start in the middle as far as height adjustment.
I just pulled those numbers out of my @ss just to make it easy but its a place to start. once you get them both together you may need to go up or down one as needed hook up again and see how it sits.

If I had to choose one over the other I would give preference to bed rail clearance over ride angle of the trailer. If you could get the measurement from the hitch plate of the pin box to the bottom of the overhang and then from the floor of the truck bed to the top of the rails you could determine how high the curt needs to be in order to give you about six inches of bed rail clearance. Someone here with the same pin box could probably supply you with that measurement, or you could go to a RV dealer and measure one.

Use the recommended settings it came with, once you get the fiver, take it to a level lot and look at everything. I have the B&W installed my '16 3500 DRW with the puck system. I used the recommended settings it came with, then I switched it this season due to some "proposing" we were experiencing. I took it to a level lot, and made the adjustments there with some test runs. My biggest thing was bed clearance, since I have to back it up hill into my driveway. I sit level while rolling, but I have less then an 1" when backing it into the drive, and unhooking is a 2 step process.

better high to start out - bed rail clearance is critical - don't want to damage either … ask the seller if they could help you set it once there - hopefully it's a friendly dealer

No one has mentioned it before about "porpoise action" if 5er nose is high - always thought it possible to have a negative effect on ride

My unloaded hitch height to the level king pin is 2 inches, That is about how much swat my truck has after hitching up.

This is right on! I was about to post the same thing before I saw this.
The dilemma between safe space over bed rails and trailer riding high in front is a direct result of truck beds getting higher over the past few years and the RV industry not adjusting the floor of the front overhang to provide additional space to solve both problems. The inside height of the front bedroom (or living room) is more than sufficient to lose 2 to 3 inches to solve this problem. I'm a little over 6' and I can barely reach my ceiling with my hand.

I have 2016 GMC 3500 with puck system, Curt Q25 hitch, and 2017 3731FL.
I had the same situation and opted to install at the middle bolt holes. When we went to pick up the trailer, I ended up in the back of the truck moving it up to the top holes after looking at the previous owner's setup.
Result ... It runs pretty level going down the road. I'd suggest the top holes for a starting point. It's not to big of a job to change it if you have to.

I have the same configuration. I recommend installing at max height you should have at least 5” clearance from bed to trailer. I had to adjust mine after I got my trailer home. Not easy.
