Wineguard Digital HD Receiver

Does anybody have one of these or know anything about them. Will it really improve TV reception as claimed?

Hooked one up on a friends RV. It enables you to pickup the TV channels like 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 etc. If you have a TV that received HD signals you don't need this box is the way I understand it.

See my previous post on page 4 of General Discussions "Free over the air dgital TV". As stated, the picture is crystal clear. These receivers are for the older TVs that do not have a built-in digital tuner. You need an antenna like the batwing on your RV or just the swept design that most of us had on our homes prior to cable. The "digital antennas" being pushed now are just marketing ploys to get you to buy the antenna. On some of the older TVs you cannot view the on air channel guide, but must simply enter the number of the station you want to watch ... I haven't found any way around this. Go to www.titantv.com and enter your zip code to see the channels available in your area.

You can go to Best Buy or an electronics store and purchase one much cheaper than the Winguard unit. If you can live with the analog signal for a couple more years a new tv will be much cheaper. When everyone switches to a digital signal the tv sets will drop considerably.

What does Best Buy call them, tried to do a search and couldn't find anything on their site.

bncinwv: Try "terrestrial tuner" ... Circuit City, Best Buy, EBay list them as such. Another source www.mydtv45.com

Guess I will add yet another item to the wish list!!! Sure hope Santa (AKA DW) pays heed to the list this year. Let's see, generators, new kitchen faucet, 2 lnb upgrade for sat dish, 2nd A/C, it never ends........ Simple solution (I have got to somehow stay on the "Good Hubby" list!!!!!!)
