TV Lift Behind Fireplace
Hi
We have a 40" LED TV with an auto life behind the fireplace in the main salon of our rig.
Has anyone had issues with the TV Lift mounting bolts being stripped? While cleaning up the "rats next" of wiring up in the cabinets and behind the TV, it became apparent that we were missing two bolts at the top of the bracket on the left side. On the right side, the other two are stripped.
If anyone else has encountered this...did you have to pull the fireplace to get to the brackets? What did you use to reinforce the mounting? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Not us, but my BIL had a problem with his TV lift system in his new Cougar, but he took it back to his dealer and they fixed it. We don't know what this was caused by.
The TV lift didn't work amongst other things, he went back to the dealer, they had it for a couple of days (they worked on the other things, too), he got it back, all is good and works and no more came of it.
Based on some other things I've seen with my rig, even after 10 years, I find a few screws loose or gone. Fortunately, my TV was the old glass tube that sat in a cabinet above the fireplace, so no fancy lifts. I have since removed the glass tube and installed a bracket and 40" flat screen. Still no lift. Good luck to you, but I'm guessing removing the fireplace is in order (from seeing my BILs setup).

Thanks! After more climbing and standing on his head, Pete thinks he has the solution. We will know more after a trip to the hardware store and more gymnastics. Loose screw seem to be a common occurrence. In our old toy hauler, wood glue and toothpicks were a common afternoon maintenance chore.

Sounds more like a less than stellar assembly line worker is responsible for your lift issues. Mine are just fine so far after 3.5 years. John

my cable connection was not working. So the dealer pulled the fireplace which is mounted with 4 screws (one in each corner) no problem getting to TV mount then. But they find numerous loose screws and bolts back there.
OURS IS A 2011......
