Slider outside floor covering

I was getting our rig ready for this season and while I was standing next to the basement hatch doors on the driver side I looked up under the bedroom slide and noticed the plastic laminent was shattered and falling down.

Anyone experienced this?? I figure the adhesive let go and when I moved the slide the last time it was probably cool (we are in Ohio)weather and when moving the covering was caught by the housing and shattered the piece while in closed. It could happen.

I am thinking about using a spar varnish to cover the plywood for this season and when we are over this season or later in the fall putting a new piece of laminent on. Any better ideas greatly appreciated.

Yes, we had the same thing happen. You or your dealer can replace the plastic under the slide. They had a period of time when the glue was not applied adequately. It would come unglued in the center and bounce around and then shatter. So, your guess is right. We finished out the season with ours and then had it done the following spring. They had to take the bedroom slide loose so they could get at the whole surface. Our dealer got Keystone to provide the material for free. I think it ran about $175 to install it.

Yes ours was starting to fall off our 06 3400 in less than 1 year. The service center replaced the entire thing. It has held since then(two years)

We have the same problem with the plastic floor cover on our bedroom slide. We opened the camper about a week ago and have several large cracks in the plastic. Looks like more maintenance dollars!

Just noticed the floor cover in ours has shattered (hard black material). Do I need to take any precautions before getting it replaced? None of the material has fallen, yet. Thought about using some Gorrilla Tape to make a temporary fix until we can get it back to the Service Center next spring. Any other ideas?

I also noticed cracks in my 2007 3000RK. We live in Pa, but are wintering in So Cal. When I called the factory they seemed suprised that this happened and wants me to send pictures. It is good to have the forum and find out we are not alone out there. Thanks everyone!

The 3400 I had last year had a crack all the way through it. Keystone replaced it at no charge to me. It was under warranty though.
